i maybe do a 3/4 water change once or twice a month, with no chemicals or testing the water. than agian i only keep fancy goldfish, which are easy to care for...

HOB filters are ok for smaller tanks, but once you go bigger, which you will. Canister Filters are the way to go. Fluval is my choice.

hello,
i never conditioned or primed my water prior to a 3/4 water change, maybe once or twice a month, not to say i never done it...but not all the time. nor do i test my water. so yes straight out of the tap. with no fish loss, than again i keep fancy goldfish, which are hardy & easy to care for. just call me lucky.

thanks guys...i have decided not too purchase the uv sterilyzing light & just grabed a bunch of floating plants & bull rushes.....water clarity is awesome & the pond has a great natural look.
-
eh guys...thanks for all the great advice.
now how about adding a UV light device...would that kill my plants, starve them out?

Hello Everybody...
I wonder if you can help me out.
I had a scheduled maintenance for my FX5, swapped it out for one which was already cleaned.
Cleaned up the dirty one & let it sit for the next schedule maintenance date.
So the next time I wanted to use it...it now doesn't work.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
G.

Good to know...in the market for 2 - 72 Gal, maybe 90's if my wife will let me

I have always liked Clown Loaches, maybe 10 - 20 would be a nice school of fish. But expensive depending on the size & where you by them.
-
I believe only the Administrator can do this...most of the time it just runs out.
The best thing that I do is just edit your Ad to say SOLD or not available & add a reply.

sorry guys I have not had much success with my "Pond Pleco"....I had 2 of them die off, maybe the weather or water quality?
Pleco Murderer
-
Throw a pair in and see how many babies you can find! :w00t:
maybe some guppies also?
-
I myself have not had good luck with my pleco's...unfortunately 2 have died on me in the pond???
Maybe the weather has been to cold in the past 2 month's...the temp has been a little more stable.
-
thanks everyone for your suggestions....lots of good stuff.
if I do the cooked green peas pealed, how long do I keep them on this diet...till they right themselves up I guess???

Hello,
A couple of my Fancy Goldfish(Ranchu's) have Swim Bladder issues. They either float or lay suspended nose down tale up almost vertical in the aquarium.
They can pretty much still get around & feed regularly when they need to...
I did a little research on this & popular treatment is to feed them cooked peas with out the skin? I haven't tried it yet...has anyone attempted this?
Also open to other suggestions for treatment?
Thanks.

LF - enough Filter Media to fill a FX5, sort of on a budget.
Thanks,
