17 grams if dry of kno3... i figured it out so you get 2.5ml of kno3, 2.5ml of kh2po4 and 5 ml of trace every 10 min.. If you use one 2L jug for macro's and one 2L for micro's you will get 2 weeks of dosing per bottle.

I was bored...so if you can get the bottles to draw 5ml from each bottle every 10 min I figured out your dosing. macro 2 liter bottle. 5g of kh2po4 in 900ml of water...0.75ppm every 24 hours. 2.5ml every 10 min.. 70 ml of kno3 in 900 ml of water....2.5ppm every 24 hours. 2.5ml every 10min **figured out using 250g of kno3 in 1000ml** micro 2 litre bottle. 13.5g of trace in 1.9L of water...0.2ppm of iron every 24 hours. 5ml every 10 min..

Ive never ran anything other then an eheim classic...The only issue I have had was I dropped the impeller shaft. It broke into 2 pieces.. I put it back in and the filter still ran perfect but made a little noise...Iven since replaced and the filter is back to doing what they do best...I highly recommend eheims not because I think its the best filter out there but because its reliable and quiet...from one millwright to another haha...

I just purchased these 2 regulators... Praxair Prostar Platinum 2 stage Stainless steel....I ordered an Ideal needle valve and a Burkert 6011 solenoid from the states. They should arrive in 8-10 days. When all the parts come in I will do a step by step regulator build.. I used all stainless steel so prices were a little high but brass can also be used at a lower cost. I only ordered parts for the one regulator so I may sell the second one..

I have kind of neglected this tank due to being busy at work...I have some time now so I will get back to dosing and try to turn this tank around. right now there is only crypts and hygro...

You can mix them as long as the iron is chelated. If the iron isn't chelated, it will combine with the phosphate and form a precipitate. add vitamin c and you are correct...

ada has nutrients...fluval does not....ada is far superior but also very expensive.

So you have had it break down into mush on you? I have it in a couple of my tanks and just tore down a 40 gallon breeder and transferred some of it into a 15 gallon and it was fine; some of it broke down but the majority >95% is fine. It will affect your pH, lowering it to ~6.5. I'm not planning to plant anything in the tanks I use it as I am going to replace it every year as it's ability to lower the pH diminishes. I probably won't use it in the future as ADA is now available. Black or very dark substrates are usually credited for making shrimps reds pop. Ron Ya I used it in a farm tank. I moved a lot of plants in and out.. It started getting mushy after a year.. ada is by far the best commercial substrate available...too bad its not available in Edmonton...

hc looks the same grown in or out of water.. jayba...words of advice...trim before flooding..and once flooded crank co2 and slowly bring down to fish safe levels over a couple weeks..

yup..ive been saying this..color temp is for our eyes only...the plants do not care also t5's seem to keep relatively the same par from brand new to the day they burn out. t-8 or 12's not so much

add 5 tsp of kh2p04 to 900ml of distilled water and 1 ml of excel....dose 30 ml every second day.. k2so4 is better to add dry..it has a low solubility in water..add 2 tsp every second day trace..12 tsp..into 900 ml of distilled water..add 1 ml of excel..dose 30 ml every second day

thats about 9ppm of nitrates 3 x a week. You will max out at 55 ppm even with no uptake from plants...which is way below toxicity..I dose double what your going to be dosing... so just dose the 20 ml and do water changes every second week and ur fine... co2 levels are really important when dosing ei..if you unsure you have enough, only dose kh2po4 once a week and if you have k2so4, dose that the other 2 days.

did you add 250 g of kno3 to 1000ml of water?

1 will do it easy..thats half a bag or less in a 35 gallon..which is 36x12...its 50/lb for 8 beans...

if your still using the diy reactor, add a venturi loop on the top to cut down noise...no more gas build up..no more noise.
