New member here. In the process of starting up my first aquarium. A co-worker gave me a 55gal tank for free. Just bought a stand for it yesterday. Hopefully I'll get it setup this weekend. I've wanted an aquarium ever since I can remember.

I've been doing lots of research and I thought this forum would be informative.

I am cichlid love, from Calgary. I got 102Gallon, 70gallon, 10Gallon,33Gallon,20 Gallon,30Gallon Tanks Running out of room. Jewel is my love. Got 11 of them, Lost count on Fry and Convicts Got abour 5 Baetas, 50+ Guppiesand Platiesand 19 Apple snail and 40 Cichlid in 102 Gallon tank big and small.

Oh Ya I forgot my Plecos 0nly 10 of them Going on sale soon.

Well tonight I got the camera out so that I could take pics of my fry tank, I was loosing my mind trying to count them. Couldn't get 'em to line up and stay still!! So here is a link to a few pics I snapped off tonight of a few of my tanks. Hope you enjoy 'em.Jay

Sounds like my story. I learn the a lot from Fish stor and from net any problem you have go and Google it.

Sounds like you need lots of chemecals in your tank talk to Fish store sales guys and older guy would be better when you buy all those items they will give you all info.

Best way to do is make a spare tank, it with fresh water and leave air buble in there and leave it for 24- 48 hours and then you can use the water for 25 % or 50 % change because Clorine will be out of there.

For new tank before you put any fish in there add water conditioner and some other chamecals in there.

Put some plants in there BUT make sure that no Small snail in there.

They can populate like any thing and block you filter and fish can be dead with in 24 hours I heard those stories.

Make sure you use the Heater and maintain the tempreture acording to fish chart.
