  1. 1. Nature's Corner (they have single and multiple prices. If you are purchasing a large amount, you can talk to them about a special price and offer cash as payment as it saves them on merchant fees)

    2. Aquarium Central

As for weighing down I use weights/small rocks and pebbles/black thread for driftwood and rocks.

  2. There are aquarium colorimeters available for the parameters you indicated. There are available for a number of shops from the states an cost about 170.00 US a piece. Unfortunately they only do one parameter each.

    Colorimeters

If you have are difficulty with reading of colors and suggestion is use a piece of white paper behind the vial and in a brightly lit room. Also with the liquid tests they have expiry dates as well.

  3. I have used a Marina Vac for years with no problems and even added at one time a 15 ft piece of tubing to drain into a floor drain. You can purchase a suction ball all for the end of the tube for easy starting and all pulls apart for cleaning. The last one I bought 10 years ago was at PJ Pets.

  4. I am new addition to the site. I have been lurking for a couple weeks, love the information and the pictures that the site contains and that it is in Alberta.

I have been keeping for about 30 years. Started as small lad and had a love for the hobby ever since. I have kept freshwater, salt water and brackish tanks from 5 gallon up to 100. At one point I had 10 tanks going and even bought an out of business pet stores bank of 30 fish tanks.

My current passion for the last 10 years is the planted tank and down to one tank at the moment.

    I currently have the following:

    Tank: 40 Gallon Oceanic

Lighting: T8 Flora-Gro (15 cm) 12 Hours per day and natural lighting from window.

Filter: Fluval 203 (Bio balls and filter material)

    Substrate: Fluorite

    Fertilizer: Tropica Aquacare

    Water Changes: 25% per week

    CO2: None

    Plants

Anubias barteri var. nana (3 Large and 6 Small)

Cryptocoryne undulata ''broad leaves'' x 1

    Cryptocoryne wendtii ''green'' x 1

Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae x 3

Microsorum pteropus (Java Fern) (40+ Stems)

    Vesicularia dubyana (Java Moss)

    Fish

12 x Hyphessobrycon columbianus (Columbia Tetra)

6 x Corydoras aeneus (Bronze Cory)

2 x Mikrogeophagus ramirezi (German Blue Ram)

1 x Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus (Flying Fox)

1 x Ancistrus spp (Albino Bristle nose)

    Hundreds of MTS

Future plans include a new hundred gallon planted tank and I will try to upload some pictures of my 40 gal in the next while.

I am looking forward to the discussions and the great content.

    Cheers,

    Chris
