  1. So I was just looking at my tank and noticed I have hundred upon hundreds of little orange feather dusters all over my rocks so I'm looking for confirmation that they are what I think they are and not something bad I find lots of each when looking for answers on line I'm attaching some pics I'll try to get a couple closer ones as well

    Thx all

  2. Hi all so I had a little problem the other day with my 110 gallon saltwater tank a 3 inch area of my silicone started leaking bit on the bright side I was able to transfer everything into 2 other tanks while I start the process of resealing it but while moving my rock I discovered some Wierd white tube masses so now just curious on what this is and on a side note no fish coral inverts or rock were hurt in this move

    Thx

  4. Well unfortunately before I could find out whatwas wrong my Oscar Big Guy lost his fight and passed away 45 min ago there is going to be ahuge hole in my tank he will be missed , he went quickly with his mate at his side I feel really bad for her

  5. So i got a full sized Oscar not sure the age I rescued him about a year ago and has been a happy and healthy fish he's in a 110 gallon tank with a second Oscar and two dempseys and 2 plecos, I do weekly water changes 25% min and treat with prime all my water parameters are good the odd increase in nitrates but that's about all ph usally in the 7.2 to7.5 range and there on a fluval 405 system for filtration but the other day he started sitting on the gravel doesn't want food and his stomach is a bit bloated thought maybe a constapation issue so did a addition of some salt and am trying to feed him peas just curious if anyone may have an idea of what may be wrong with him

    Thx

    thx Adam

  9. So i just started up a saltwater tank first one super excited. so im using a 55 gallon tank 30X18X22 to start with ive read that larger tanks are easier to maintain once fully cycled, using aqueon 90 gallon hob filter swc mini hot protien skimmer, and so far 50 lbs of live sand, ive got my salt water reading good on my hydrometer at 1.026 and a temp of 80 degrees, im going to beadding my live rock today or tomorrow but ive read that adding to much at once can hurt your live rock and turn it into dead base rock im wondering what is the right amount of live rock to be adding at one time i was going to do 20-25 lbs to day and the rest in a week or so ne feed back would be greatly appreciated or if it seems like ive done ne thing wrong so far . have not tested all the nitrates and stuff yet because only set up for 3 days but was filled with prime treated water.

    thx Adam
