any way they couldve made it to the filter canister?
i have a surface skimmer and my fish love taking the filter waterslide
-
lucky man!
-
thats a shame
they only need a small tank to breed in then the fry take about 3 weeks to hatch if you leave them in water
if you ever come up to edm i'd like to tradeone of my males for one of your females to keep the breeding line strong
-
ugh if they were in edmonton!!
-
yes they do
i have 3 males of that variety
did you get a yellow female?
-
killifish and danios have been the ones taking the ride
-
what do you guys use to get rid of the surface films?
i've got one of those 15 dollars plastic ones hooked up, but my fish like to hang out around it and every now and then go on a wild ride into the filter
im not such a huge fan of their watersports and would like to explore a safer option
any help?

is that fred?

love going to the auctions......but not a fan of the 4 hr drive there and back....especially cause im mostly just killi crazy right now and thats all id buy

My plan is to take a 33 gal and basically make some cubicles for my fish. 4 to be precise
The purpose is to cut down on the number of tanks i have and to accomodate a breeding section that can be used as a grow out portion as well. mostly this is for my killifish
Its 36inches long and each section will be 9inches. Looking to have plastic mesh so there is still water moving between all sections. The walls can be removed or added depending on what the current needs are.
My question is has anyone here done this and if so what problems have you come across? any advice before i embark upon this

eggs will stick
when i had mine and they spawned i could see a few eggs still stuck to the female
moss or a mop should work

-
i just got some tanks for breeding but so far im just limited to breeding gardneri killifish
-
i also got 4 from AC, they're pretty cool
the blue is comming in strong now
-
got this message on the phone today so heads up!
scheduled line maintainence
how much of a problem will this be you think? i've got a 20 gal and 80 gal freshwater
anything to worry about?
-
looks like they're doing well
just need another tank now for breeding
-
yea its planted, not heavy tho
i might need to add some more plants
as far as other fish i've got 12 cardinal tetras, 2 danios, 6 kili rice fish, a gourami, pleco, sydontis, hillstream loach

so im getting into killifish a bit, i've got 3 types so far with a male and female of each (one is an annual so fingers crossed for some eggs)
so far the males all get along since they're different species and what im planning on doing is having the females in one tank and the males in my display tank so they arent harassing the females
my question: ive got 2 males of the same species in seperate tanks right now, could i put them both into my display without them fighting if my display is 90 gallons?
