  1. That is kinda what i thought but not that familiar with salt water stuff. Any idea what a person would sell them for? I got a 90 gallon salt water i need to fix and then all that stuff will be going back in minus those. Thanks,
  2. Ok so I managed to keep most things alive and now I'm working on a tank. These are like 13" tall and 8 inches at the top. Are they toadstools.
  3. update: all fish are still swimming around and the coral is out. So far so good. Anyone got a tank they might want to trade for a good pile of rock and a lot of sand?
  4. yeah the tote is sitting at 68 degrees. his tank was only at 72 and with no heater but i think the sump was giving it a few degrees. Is it true that if the corals do die i can reintroduce more later. The ones that i inherited are fairly boring to say the least.
  5. ok thanks, I am a little concerned about the live rock as half of it and probably sixty lbs is sitting in a tote right now. I will put a powerhead in there tonight. Ae they pretty resilliant.
  6. ok so i had a 90 gallon aquarium given to me as it was leaking. I set up half the live rock with coral in my 40 gallon and the other half of the rock is in a tote with an air bubbler. I managed to save all the fish so far and the coral seems to be doing fine. I followed the mixing instructions from the instant ocean but do not hae a hyddrometer. I will pick one up today. I will have the 90 gallon fixed or replaced within a week but could use any suggestions or tips to help me out for the next week or so. I converted my canister with live rock to act as a temp sump. Please advise.
  7. Remember the Fronts are pretty timid and if you mix more aggressive africans with them you might find that they will not compete for the food you offer. The comps and calvus are from the same lake and fairly timid as well so nice choice there. You could consider Julies and Brichardi to add more color to the tank. Also add more hiding places before you do.
  8. They look like Mpimbwe to me. I have 20 of these right now in a 300 gallon. What size is your tank. Also my fisha re only 2" long right now but these are nice.
  9. They are Mpimbwe. The Blues are more than any i have seen on Mpimbwe before. The dad is wildcaught and the Mom is F1.
  10. Here are some updated pics of the Clan. I a down to 20 as i knew i needed to thin the herd down a bit. enjoy. Hope the pics worked
  11. cannot remember the name but it was a slate from Burnco on the Sherwood park freeway
  12. Given that stock list, i would worry about the convicts. Your shrimp and basicallly food for thought.
  13. if you look at my posts you will see the surrounding bar i have since added. If you have any questions about fish and such let us know.
  14. What you need to do is get a glass or plastic tube about six inches around and put the fish inside that in the tank. Make sure it cannot be broken by your turtle. Once he tries to get them a few times unsuccessfully he will learn that these fish are unatainable. This method is not fool proof but definately works. Give it a try and it might save you money on fish.
  15. just check my posts and you will see lots.
  16. you just have to go to the posts and look. You will see sperate forums like photography, livestock etc.
  17. Thanks ok! Sounds like your wife likes Mbuna. If you look at my posts you will see what i have done with the tank so far. It is a Tanginikan tank and if you show your wife the Frontosa i have in there and she likes them i hae a few for sale!
  18. for now just the fronts and synos. i think the Julie's are going to be a snack unless they get very creative with the rocks.I do have some Dubosi growing up in another tank and want to mix them because they are pretty much the same size and from the same lake but if they kill my fronts i will not be happy with them! When you get to your new place and decide you need more i will have a few a little more grown up for sale as i want to get down to about 18. drop me a line
  19. Just wanted to get an idea of who keeps Fronts out there. I currenty have 30 Mpimbwe fronts in a 300 Gallon aquarium. They are being fed blood worms and NLS Grow and the largest is about 2" long. Just added some Transcriptus and looking to add some Petricola. please post your stock/setup/feeding if interested. Thanks,
  20. Well I added a mirror finish Stainless Steel back to the tank and partialy finished the bar. the Man Cave is coming along. The Fronts are getting a bit bigger now too. Anyone got some Syno's for sale? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/69/bar2k.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/51/bar1k.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/72/fishyr.jpg/ Thanks for looking!
  21. seems like you have cleaned the tanks enough. I know nothing about plants but have you added one lately that maybe the fish do not like?
  22. I had that exact demension tank and the glass was 3/4". Pretty heavy. One thing you will want to consider is if it is used, Check the seams. 150 gallons of water in your below neighbors apartment might cost you more than you think. Does it happen to have a custom cherry wood color stand. It is brand new from Petsmart. It is quite a heavy tank. It is this one here... The stand kind of creeps me out actually, it's very light and not that bulky at all.. but they sold it as a set so it must hold haha. I guess i would just make suer you are allowed to have it in there. The largest i have had is a 55 gallon on my forth floor apt. Now i have a 300 gallon....on concrete. Good Luck
