  1. I have 6 beautiful "Peru Altums". They are gigantic and amazing to watch! I have them in "" because they are not true altums. Peru Altums are scalare (Which means they are easier to keep...Orinoco Altums are very sensitive from what I've read) that originate from the Rio Nanay in Peru. They do look a lot like true Altums, but you can see the biggest difference in the mouths, in the colouring, and in the size. I really do love my peru altums, but one day I would really like to do a true Wild Altum tank.

  2. Hello all,

Thank you for allowing me to join your forum! It's wonderful to be able to have these kind of resources to help us with our hobby.

We currently have two community tanks on the go, and three 30 gallon breeder tanks set up.

-55 gallon planted tank with some beautiful "Peru Altums" (they are not true altums, they are from the pterophyllum scalare), 2 pea puffers and an albino bristlenose pleco.

-120 gallon with 10 juvenile angelfish, 10 assorted danios, 1 bala shark, 2 dalmation lyretail mollys, 2 red velvet swordtails, and Leopard Sailfin Pleco.
