Gina, the dimidiatus are doing great. Always swimming around and eating really well. I'm very happy with them, plus it's nice to have some fish in the tank that look so different from the others.

Two other photos from last week that I was happy with. Wasn't really pleased with how the Polit photo turned out (framing and background), but managed to catch them in action fighting, so thought it was worth sharing. Hope you enjoy!

A series of photos of my shell dwellers acquired at the recent auction. Despite being in a tank with substantially larger tankmates they are doing very well.

Labeled as "Lamprologus Speciosus". That seems to match up with the photos from cichlid forum, although the name "speciosus" kind of sounds like a name someone would use when they don't really know what it is...

The two smaller ones flaring at each other:

Finally got around to some fish photos tonight after a long, long break. I was happy with how this photo of my Malawi Eye Biter turned out. This guy along with the Venustus are definately the fish "in charge" in their tank.

Great photos, my favorite of the bunch is the baby fry in front of it's mothers eye.

Great photos as usual. Almost makes me want to get a betta, almost being the key word.

Alright, I'm a bit tired of using my python for emptying my fish tanks, first it's kind of slow, plus it wastes a lot of water. This is my idea and I'm looking for suggestions as to what type of pump would work. It does not need to be submersible. I'll still use my Python to re-fill the tanks.

Here is a diagram showing what I want to do, and I'd get some clamps to hold the hose in place at both ends.

Any suggestions? Anyone do this themselves, what do you use? I'd also like something that could run dry for short periods of time as well so that I don't have to fill the first section of hose leading up to the pump with water before I turn it on.

Just got an urchin for my tank recently. I don't know why I didn't look into these guys earlier. Kinda slow, but really cool!!!

Anyway here is one of the Hermit Crabs playing on his new friend after discovering that, no it's not food.

Here is a wider angle shot, but I was obviously having some focus issues... It shows the whole urchin though.

I was inspired by Patrick to take some more fish photos recently and here are some of my better results. I took some of these photos just a few days ago, and some of the others last month.

This picture, I actually took during the summer shortly after I picked up 5 of these young Borleyi Kadango's.

Here is a picture of one of them now, obviously a male. They all looked like the above photo not that long ago.

Just an FYI to anyone interested. There is a very large (about a foot long) zebra Mantis at Big Als here in Edmonton.

Needless to say I was very surprised when I saw him! He's in one of the tanks above the Live Rock.

The Claw is enraged after this latest display on insolence and does not want to have to put up with any new tankmates for some time. However if Barbie was introduced into his lair she would be just as quickly decimated, or perhaps a romance would develop??? Sadly his master does not have any Barbies...

With the remains of his last victim, the ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex, still at his feet the Claw approaches his next enemy, preparing to do battle once again!

This time his enemy is the deadly Bionicle Man!

Bionicle Man recoils in fear, what is this monstrous beast he now faces?

With unexpected fury the titans clash and the Claw quickly assumes the upper hand

The claw makes quick work of his new enemy and once the battle is over begins to enjoy the spoils doing his best to devour his mechanical enemy!
