ok then. i borrowed a test strip to try out but i don't know what colours are what.i know there was 5 colours and the middle orange one was PH. the first 2 colours where nice and pale, and last 2 quite dark. and i just added another 4 little bards so the one little guy wouldn't be picked on so much. so i guess doing a water change today will help things

What is the difference between P.plucher and P. taenitus?

Did the tanks first water change today, seems like an iffy issue to these water changes. One source i ready said to do 10-20% changes every 2 days, another every week. so i kind of did it in the middle. On Friday i will go and get the water tested at a pet store and buy 3-4 more tiger barbs, there's one little one i have right now that the largest one is harassing so meanly! Hopefully more fish will dissipate things. Also the 3rd one looks odd, it has the black stripping but no orange, thoughts?

And i was going to ask you for some too but i forgot, lol.

OK i think i mostly everything in the gravel, so far what i put in there wasn't come out yet, and no leaves have died off yet. I wish i had the for sight to buy more then just water condition, lol. But at the time it was the only thing i could remember that i needed! Tiger barbs are still alive. Just wondering how often i should be feeding them during the cycle, the got the tiniest of pinch yesterday morning, when should they get another pinch?

Took my little mini road trip out to Mornville to darkangels house to pick up the tank today. Got everything plus a bunch of plants that i can't pronounce, 'cept the java moss, its really the only one i knew. Came home, stopping at Paradise Pets to spend $5 credit from six years ago, and spent just over a hour setting it up. Now the water's nice a clean and the 3 tiger bards haven't died yet. All is good

40? wow. Maybe i should just get one off you in a month or so. If BN plecos at the show are being fought over, when i got Spike that year all the plecos went pretty high.

Been looking into BN (bristle/bushy nose) plecos once again. I owned one way back when that i bought of a guy that out bid me on a bunch at an auction years ago. Her name was Spike and she was awesome. She was around 3 inches, if not less. Was that a normal size or was she a dwarf? What are the chances of seeing them at the show? Would plecos labeled bushy nose plecos at the pet store stay small? and would it be ok to put it with Kribs?

Yah, i'm going to the show just to see if there's some there. but with the fish at the pet store i know i don't want to spend more then $15 on a pair. Was thinking though, would it be better to get one at the show and one at the store so that if they do breed they would be completely unrelated?

Did some more reading and the set up sounds good. The Londonderry PJ's has a good selection of fish right now. I can even get the Kribs there ^.^ Still don't know what to put them with barbs, tetra, danios. I was hoping to go with what ever if most colourful. Cherry Bards, Neon Tetras, Tiger Bards, Rainbow Danios. Crap I don't know >.< what the most colourful in your opinion? I and going to let my 3 almost 4 year old pick to schoolers in the end. Can they go good with BN PLecos? Used to have on ages ago, she was only 3 inches or so, maybe she was a dwarf? or is that the right size for them, Blah, more reading >.>

OK, get tank mates first then the Kribs. After i pick up the tank from you i'll start cycling right away and use their tank mates as testers. Hopefully there will be a nice pair at the show since i don't think i'll find kribs at the pet store. So it mainly tetras then? what could i use as clean up crew other then cats? Edit: would the numbers still be the same? Could you guys just give me a few examples and i'll try and decide from there. Edit: Oh, and what kind of set up do they like? I was thinking of planting it with some java fern, and maybe something else if its cheap at a pet store to help with the cycling (i was planning on getting the fern at the show) with the driftwood Darkangel offered (it would be awesome it i could get the ferns to latch onto it) and put in some small Terracotta pots (3inch) but i'm not exactly sure on the size. Sorry of all the edits, i didnt want to double post.

I would like more info on these guys as for what tank mates will work in a 20/29 Gallon. The cookie cutter articles on cichlid forum says Pelvichromis pulcher - 1 pair, Synodontis nigriventris "Upside-down Cat" - 4, Nann. unitaeniatus "1-lined African Tetra" - 6. What else would work? And is there any other more detailed info on them?

Prehaps you have gotten lucky in that some SA/CAs do like hard water. Or so i've found in scouring the site. Or does it really even matter?

Been looking at cichlids again. Specifically weather or not to go with Malawians again or try SA/CA's. Though i've noticed while looking at various profiles on the cichlid-forums that SA/CAs need soft water. Edmonton has hard water, more suitable for Malawians, but i was wondering what i'd have to do for some SA/CAs. I know i'd need water softener but i've never had to use the stuff before and don't even know what it looks like or costs. So any info before getting fish like with cycling and stuff would be great!

I'm not sure if Walmart stands come in different sizes but I've a couple of 29G (20G long) stands that have shelves and cupboards that I've kid proofed. Might want to look there.

Things maybe moving along more quickly then first thought, so i need to decide soon. Though i can't hence the poll. Also suggestions on tank setup would be nice!
