What materials would be best to use? Ive brought this up before, i beleive but i cant find the thread. I remember something being said about somethings that warp because of the heat and mositure. Were would you get the stuff anyway? I'm looking to make something for my 30, it still has no lid or lights. Evaporation is a pain the the @$$ with that tank.

Everyone knows i really want a nice big tank for xmas, the main reason being is because of my cichlids. Out of the origanl ones i got from the auction in october, i only have one eukera albino left out of four, and 3 out of 4 princesses, and the 6 acies. Ive no way of testing the water as of yet, but i do bi weekly water changes. But still im not sure if its that. I think whats happening is that they are starting out grow the 30 g tank, and i know theres been some aggresion. With the move coming im not sure if the tanks will have enough room for them when they grow up. Ive always though that the frist fish to go would be my tetras in the 29g but maybe some of the cichlids will have to go to. The question is, which ones. What do you think i should do?

I think a "You Tanks" section would be a great place to put tank profiles as well. I remember doing one for my 29g.... and thought it kind of stuck out the a sore thumb. In the section, it if nicely with everyones info, and the pics would be nice too.

The blue ones are quiet a bit smaller then Mystic (shes about 8 months old..... since ive had her anyways) and the red one (bought at the same time as the blue ones, a month ago). I dont think i really have anything to worry about, till i go to check on them next week, whats conserning me is them being fat. I had my brother fast them for 5 days last time i seen them like that, and the blue ones got better, but the red one barely changed. Im thinking that shes now old enough to be breed, but im not sure. Is there anyway to tell, or is there something else going on with the tank?

Anyone interested in just plain paper backgrounds? You know you'd buy them at the store, and they'd be blue black... what ever colour, or have pretty pics of underwater landscape on them? I'm serious about drawing them for you guys, at a price i admit, but you'd be getting origanal quality art work that you wouldn't see anywere else. Last vist to my moms let me find my old, barely used art kit with a set of paints, so i can do any medium you'd like me to try. If there's a pic you have that you like, but can't be used as a background, I'll gladly redraw it so you can. I'm even thinking of laminating each peice so that the water and moisture can't damage them. I'm just about finshed a sketch, done in conte.... like a brownish chalk... thanks alot, the info looks to be realy helpful. Either way, i think im going to have to wait till they grow up a bit more. I really hope i get a bigger tank too, how long till they out grow the 30 g? lol.....

yah i think they are too small to tell yet, the biggest fish in the tank ( a acie) it just over a inch and a half. How bif will they have to be for me to tell in that manor?

The fry i bought at the auction back in october are alot older looking now and i was wondering how do i tell which are male and female. With the acies their are slight differences in colour, but with my princesses and albinos they all look the same. Only one has died, and it was a princess surprisingly, that was picked on alot for being the smaller of the 4. How much older do they have to be before i have to start worrying about fry in the tank?

I could try drawing something. could you tell me to size to the back of your tank? that way i could get used to drawing on a large scale project again. Right now im just doing a few sketches in my book. Once i get them on my site, ill post the link so you guys can see.

If your looking for someone with artistic ability look now further then me! lol. For that styrofoam thing... id charge maybe $10 for the work... maybe 5 youd just have to buy the stuff kay?? Also, I'm thinking of drawing backgrounds. like though sheets of backgrounds you buy at the stores.Chirsty bought one and tapped to the back of her tank, is that what your suposed to do? Shelley, i cant remember the names of the plants you gave me, or the fish lol. I was just wondering, that once you have time, what the plants are like and all as far as light reguirments are. The fish seem happy, noones gave them any trouble that i seen before i left to go home. ill be back at my moms this weekend, so i can check on them... do they eat flakes?

ok, life's a twisted sick mind piece of s***. With only a few good things that make it good... or at least tolorable. They'd be the fish, my dog (though I don't get to see much of her) and my boyfriend. Work blows, pay sucks, and i cant wait to see what my raise is. See everythings normal... if you include all them pills, so things that can wreck your life can't happen. Lol jk. Its all good. My dog is THE BEST! :heart: She 100% MINE! Lol. I've had her ever since she was a month old, I taught her everything she knows, to the point were she could compete in obedence stuff.... if she were more patient, but she could so do it. she'll be what.... 4 on the last weekend of January, i buy her Xmas presents ( a huge tub of milk bone treats) and bday gifts too (new toys). She a malamute wolf cross, and she can hold her own against any dog.... to prove it she'll sometimes pick a fight with a rotty twice her size. Lol, no jokes there, his names molson. She a beautiful pale coulor, creamy white, fraothed with a light tan and shadowed on top with grey.... wish i had a pick to show you guys... My fish... I guess you could say the first fish i had was them weird things we caught in out dugout on the acerage. To this day i dont know what they are... nor have the memory of what they looked like in detail. After that was my first goldfish bowl, a few Goldfish, who died off, then the Bettas. Ive had more bettas then i an count, but currently I've 5. 4 females, and 1 male... I want to breed them but all my fish are at my moms, so i'll have to convince my bros for some help... so far that a negitive. Then i got the 29g for xmas.... history on that tank is found in its own profile. Any the current fish are Sharky (Rainbow Shary), Gem (CAE), 1 Danio, 2 Red Minor Tetras, 2 Black Skirt Tetras, and the Ramhorn. I've got the 30g with my pressious Cichlids. 6 Acies, 4 Bracardis, and 4 Albino Eukera Reds, and the black mystety snail... the female gold bushynose pleco continues on its dissappeared act. I've a 10g housing the 4 female bettas, the biggest and oldest being from the origanal batch of girls i got (shes got a nice green colouring) and 3 new girls(one red, 2 blue). Then the lone male, (hes blue too) in his own bowl. And the other 10g thats FOR SALE. Lol, some take it, i need to gt a bigger tank. Thats one difficulty. Living in one house with your buddies at another. So I'm looking for a bigger tank, cause I'm only allowed one (which sucks) at my new house. I was thinking of a nice 90 g, but it might be to big for were im allowed to put it. So its a sticky stituation... i just want one big enough for Sharky, Gem, the cichlids, the bettas, snails, and those 2 algae dudes ABwildrose is bringing up. I could be able to part with the tetras..... if i really have to th bracadris will go next. Oi. Ok.... This is long... Dont thing i need to write much else, cause i think this will do. So im out.

how did you suspend it over the tank? mine has no lid so im not sure how to hold it up. Plus could i get some pics or your guys set ups?

I really need to know wow i can hook up some strange thing for lighting over the Cichlid tank. Right now all it gets it what comes through the window in moms basement, and even that dosent hit the entire tank. The Java moss the the 10g has grown, alot, to 3 times the size it was when i got it at the ouction, so i put a lump in the tank, will it die, or be able to survive? Also, this tank has no lid, it was broken in the move, beyond repair. Any suggestions?

ok, i was just wondering what she will look like when she older, will she look like this pic of one i found? or is this one a male? If so what do the females look like? i think there should be a way to say were th stores are located. Cause i hear of some neighborhood store, like dads, that are only in edmonton or calgary, yah know.... unless the site says were they are, that might keep out a section. ive just got 1 gold bushtnose pleco, female. shes in with the africans at my moms house that i just moved in yesturday. i hope they recover from he moving stress ok.

they fish are a bit over a inch, some aproching 2 inches. How big do they have to be to breed anyway? So far as extra tanks go, all i have is a 10 g. but i can wait around till i get my hands on another one, and start something with a petstore.

they only change on of the filters... theres 2 of them in there, because the one wasnt working properly and had water flowing over it. so the bateria is still growing it the first one.
