  1. A bit of both. I don't feed much, the buggers always seem hungry, scavenge everything, but there's always a sinking pellet they miss. And algae since nothing seems to work to get rid of it, even a 5 day black out during a BG outbreak that it survived, and its hard to scrub off stuff since it grows on anything.

  2. Or Hemichromis cristatus. They have some real nice color to them. Can't find much info on them, do they go by another name? I think they would go real nice with the P.pulcher and N. parilus. Been thinking about rehoming the BN Pleco, seems the pulchers and it quarrel a lot over the caves (there's 3) and it has been mentioned it could be eating the eggs, not cool. What can i use to replace it as clean up crew?

  3. Wondering if something like Nanochromis parilus could go with P. pulcher. Or is there is anything else that could go with them that is around the same size. Tank (once the pump issue is fixed) would be 50G. And the P.Pulchers still have no fry, seen eggs a plenty, no babes though, same with the amecas. Tank mates that would move from the current 29G to the 50G are: pair Ameca splendids, 4 tiger bards, 1 diamond tetra, 1 BN pleco. Willing to trade the tetra and barbs for schoolers on the smaller side. Like black neon tetras, they look cool. haha. Oh and the Amecas have destroyed a lot of the plants i had, is there any tougher leafed ones that they will leave alone? All that i have left is the Crypts, anubus, and something newish i'm trying out that i can't remember the name too.

  4. i have the green tuffy stuff and gravel glass, and some plants. And brownish stuff on the java moss and drift wood. In the tank that supposed to be eating it is a pleco, a couple ottos, pond snail and a pair of amecas. The amecas seem to be helping but it too much it seems. any other suggestions?

  5. I'm looking into buying a xp3 off of another member here, and i was wondering if over filtering was a bad idea. I did some looking around and found the xp3 is recommended for 175G and a xp2 ( which i had used years before on my old 50G) was recommended for 75G. Are there any down sides? Will the circulation be too much? thinking about it right now i can only see it as a good thing, i bet plants would love it.But then again, i don't really know what i'm talking about LOL

  6. Checked again (sorry can't help) and found that ones that used to be on the wall of the terra cotta cave are now on the floor of it where there is no gravel. I can seen them.... rolling as Mom fans them. They aren't as white as i thought but they do look clouded...

  7. So my Kribs spawned again and i'm really hoping to see some fry this time. I looked in their with a blue tinged LED flashlight. The eggs appear white ( i remember some one asking about their colour in the last thread). Either way, i'm not taking any chances with the pleco. Its in a live bearer holding net. So here's a picture of it in jail, with Dad on guard.
