wintering a two foot koi and his friends
Green Seahorse replied to Goldfish Girl's topic in Ponds (indoor-outdoor)
our neighbours have a huge outdoor pond. They heat it spring and fall with a sinking tank heated in a metal bucket to keep the fish from burning themselves. They put them in the garage in the early winter in a large trough as the power bill to keep the pond unthawed would be crazy! They have some huge fish! Proper filtration and minimal feeding keeps them clean. They also run lights for them all the time. They winter fine. -
Awww they are so cute!

Help! Somethings wrong with my daughters Piranah
Green Seahorse replied to Green Seahorse's topic in Fish Emergencies
We ran the tank with fish in it................................. The fish was healthy when we got it, very nice fish, maybe the stress of all the excitement with all the kids and their friends was too much. I just feel really bad for the little fish.       RIP Rasputin, we will all miss you. Will his mate die without company? What should we do with Ursula? Should we get her a friend??? -

I want to go salt water soooooo  bad, just don't feel confident enought to go to salt water yet. I am looking at a 75 gallon already being used for salt, thought maybe try that first. After all, live rock for the 230 would be big $$$$$$$ Maybe if we win the jackpot with the Super 7 lottery pool. LOL -roll-
