  1. I hate those particle board stands ... I always toss em into the burning pit and use a proper stand. I know they are designed to hold the tanks, but with spilt water swelling the particle board and braces and joints loosening up over time I am not comfortable around them.

The first 3 pics were taken about 20 minutes out of thier shipping bags. The next morning they were covered in white slime and I had to treat them with a strong antibiotic for 5 days. The last 2 pics I took this morning ,they are recovering nicely and eating well now.

  5. Today was my 1st CAS auction was looking forward to it all week, saw lots of interesting stuff. But a scratchy throat and sniffles forced me to leave before auction started quess I will have to the count down to the next.Ron I saw that pcs. of driftwood going in as I was going out nice find.Did any shell dwellers show up just curious?

Haven't really looked it over well yet; by the cobwebs on it, I am guessing it has been out of the water for a while. I just brought it home and hosed it off outside to get the sand off.

yup it's been out of water for about 6 months if it's the one I brought

  6. They can easily be bred in an unheated tank, I use a 220 gal tub with a sponge filter in it. They pretty much eat anything and are really prolific. They are not seasonal and are available year round.

P.S The gates are shut and the sweet spot should be ready soon Cate.

  8. I would stay away from any wood collected in an area that has been chemically treated. If you do use it soak it for a few weeks and do regular water changes on it. Along the the shore line by the Glenmore overpass is a good place to collect driftwood.
