  1. So I've sold my 5 red head Tapajos and need some less common interesting South American cichlids to replace them with. Only remaining fish in the tank is 1 7inch red spot severum and 1 5inch heros sp. curare. Tank is 5ft long, sand substrate and lots of drift wood. Filtered with an fx6 and a fluval 406. Suggestions? I'm feeling really stumped at this point.
  2. Hi, I got a tankful of south american fish from a fellow moving, including a pair of teen/adult pike cichlids (different kinds, 7 inches each). They were downsized from a 100 gallon to a 40 gallon tank. The cichlids freak out every time I turn on the light, open the tank lid or pretty much to disturb the tank. I'm just wondering if my tank is too small or if they haven't got used to the new tank. I've had them for a month now. Any help is welcome! Thanks in advance.
