New Tank High Nitrite

I just started my 15 gallon tank three weeks ago. To speed up the cycling process I added seven Danios as well as a wall of plants. I kept checking my Ammonia and Nitrite levels and they steadily went up and the ammonia level dropped right down (good thing, right?) However the Nitrite has hovered steadily at about 5.0 ppm for a week now. The water is very clear and the fish and plants all seem to be doing well. Im wondering if this is normal in the cycling process or should I do something to bring it down. Im quite new to this and would like to add new fish, but I can't until the level is down (I think). Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes time is best. If you interfere it just extends the time out longer. Once he N2(Nitrite) level is down you'll start seeing a low N3(Nitrate) reading which is OK if stays low( maintained with regular water changes). This should happen soon . After a few days of reading 0 on ammonia and nitrite you are cycled. Now you can slowly change out your danios for the new fish you want to keep.Do not grow your stock count too fast or you'll go through a mini cycle all over again.
