johnsmith
Right now I have a 40g with 4 young nics (~2"- 3") and I'm wondering if it's possible to add anything else to this tank? In particular I'm interested in some sort of schooling fish, esp. something CA. To be even more specific, something that's readily available here in Calgary. If there isn't room for a school are there any other options? When we get our prosperity cheques I'll likely be upgrading to a 75g - 90g as long as I can find a good deal. canucklehead
Are you looking for a cichlid or more of dither?
johnsmith
I'm leaning towards dither fish. Basically, something to be in the background other than rocks and plants. I don't really want to add another cichlid.
cichlidkid
giant danios work great, since nics arnt really agressive I would say you could probably put in some larger tetras too. ps that tank will only hold 2 adult nics, if that
johnsmith
ps that tank will only hold 2 adult nics, if that Yeah, I'll definitely have a bigger tank by the time I have to worry about that. If I get a pair I'll just keep them, if not then hopefully 3 - 4 will be okay in a 90g.
