Naruto
I had two altum angels and several discus in a 60 gal tank. One of the altum angels started breathing hard yesterday, I tested the water and the ammonia is a little bit high so I moved all fish to another tank (good water condition) and the altum angel is still breathing hard, the rest of the fish are fine. There is a white dot on the altum angel body, doesn't look like ich, a little bit bigger than ich. What should I do? Please help.
finaddict
Hi, maybe add a power head to increase oxygen into water!

Toirtis
Nitrites and nitrates good as well? I assume this second tank is cycled and mature? No pH difference between the two tanks? How long have you had the altum and how big is it? Can you describe the 'white dot' better...is it raised, symmetrical/asymmetrical, etc? wandj
Assuming all your parameters are fine, it could be a parasite. Altums are wild caught no? Could be gill flukes. Especially possible if the fish is breathing more out of one gill than the other. Prazipro is a good med for this if they are gill flukes. Naruto
I changed the water, added aquarium salt and fungus medication, the 2 white dots are slowsly going away, but it is still weak and it starts eating now. This one is not wight caught. I had it in the same tank with the wild caught and discus about 2 months. The wild caught one is fine. I will try prazipo and see.
