safety4fire
Has anyone had experience keeping native fish in an aquarium, such as trout, grayling, perch, or pike? If so did you need a chiller to keep the water cool? I know someone might say it is illegal to keep them, I am just wondering that’s all

Mighty Prawn
Is it illegal to keep local fish??? I was thinking about this recently as well, and thought it'd be cool to keep a perch or something. -Hideo
Froggie
Is it illegal to keep local fish??? My understanding is you have to get special permission from wild-life officals, otherwise it is illigal.

Correct, you must have permits to keep all game fish and some coarse fish.....the fines, should you be caught, are potentially in the 5 figure range....per fish. As far as keeping them goes, you would require a large, long tank (probably a 250 long), and a good chiller.
