Garhan
Well it is good to see they are sorting out there places. Nudging is good and common behaviour in a pecking order. That RT was 1 of 9 young purchased for breeding purposes. Typically as discus grow out in groups they will begin to pair off at 12-18 months of age. A courtship will assume between 2 fish, sometimes this is not noticable to people who have never raised discus before. The courtship can be several different motions or actions. I have seen it interpeted as fighting also. While all this goes on you will likely only develope 1 breeding pair out of 6 to 9 fish and possibly 2 pairs. This pairing is also apart of the social structure and some fish are put on the run by the others and will typically turn out to be smaller in size. Simply they are not allowed to eat. This common with many different types of chiclids. None the less they make excellent display fish, which is usually what happens to the vast majority of our tropical fish. At least you purchased a very clean and healthy fish. Cheers, Garhan
