aquaexotica
Jusr out of curiosity, how would you know if a starfish was dead? I would imagine it would no longer move around with its little tenticles. Would it lose color or anything? I heard that they can live for years and years, and that it could actually live out of water for a few days?
BlkWolfe
They'll just kinda dissolve and leave hard "pebbles" My harlequin shrimp will sometimes kill a starfish (chocolate chip usually), and the skin will begin to disolve and expose the pebbles underneath before they can consume it otherwise i can never tell if its alive or dead unless it moves, and im not usually curious enough to go rooting around looking for one to flip over and inspect the tubules
aquaexotica
Thanks, I also have a chocolate chip. When I clean the glass I usually just knock him off and if he crawls back on, hes good to go! Thanks for the info.
