Paul & Lana
I have a 20 gallon tank that is currently empty and I'd like to start a nano reef... Just looking at lighting and have a few questions: Right now it has a 18 inch bulb which I'm sure isn't enough light. Is there a way to convert the existing plastic hood to hold more lamps? Barring that, is there a simple option as far as hoods go, that will hold enough lighting? My concern is if I go with an open top and light above, that the lights will get hot and burn someone (it's in the dayhome's play area, so little ones are in there most of the time, not that the lights will be close to them, but still...). If the lighting is 4 feet off the ground or so, I'm not expecting them to get close, but one never knows. Also, if it's an open top, is there any risks of kids sticking their fingers in (to the tank of course, kids can be replaced)? Thanks, Lana
