Very nice fish....probably my favorite actualy.
I had a few of them myself.
How are they doing?...no problem with bloat yet?

It is 100% male and it looks like he's wants to breed or he's showing Dominance over another male.

Welcome back.
I hope you are doing well after you trip down east.
-
Are you insinuating that i am as bald as Phil Collins? -roll-

I got ya all beat. :smokey:
Thanks to all that make this site all it is.

I would suggest a tank with a foot print of atleast 48" x 18".

LOL...didn't realize the "nandopsis clause" actually caught on. I remember Jay posting stating something in regards to selling it to whomever he sees fit... I followed suit and gave credit where credit was due so instead of writing again and again what Jay said regarding selling to whomever...I just put Nandopsis clause in effect.

Found where I posted it: http://albertaaquatica.com/index.php?showtopic=16196&hl=
FatPuffer is correct.
That is exactly how it got started.
I'll try and elaborate after i get home from work tonight.

Thanks Quinn.
I have been luck snagging some extra ordinary fish...Mostly tanks to Canuckle and Rudy.
Quinn if your heading down to Cowtown this weekend mabey see if Chris wants your old male Dovii in the buy & sell.

From what i can make out the second one may also be some sort of Mbuna from Africa as well, but i still would like to see a Pic.

I have to agree.
feeders are no good, unless you raise themyourself.
That however isn't very practical for most people.
A high quality food such as NLS will do wonders for your C/A cichlids....Trust me.
I won't use any other food anymore. *Frozen foods excluded*

Your fish is a Dimidiochromis compressiceps.
From lake malawi in Africa.
I can't tell what the second Pic is at all.
-
You can do it, but it might not the best. Trying to match up the factory silicone job is difficult and atleast alittle bit dangerous.
My advice is to transfer your fish and filters into a rubbermaid container and drain the tank. Then fix the entire tank properly.

Definately a Leleupi, and Banded Leporinus.

How large are the Tri-Mac?
-
Sweet Nick.
Now comes the hard part...raising the fry.
Good luck buddy.

Herichthys bocourti.
-
Or try the search function, looking only in the "buy & sell" forums.

My jag and my old Midas annihalated each other.
Not a likely mix.
I would have to agree with Pimpdocta.
The male Jag and the male midas idea is a time bomb.
-
Where the heck have you been?
I've missed you around here.
What do you have for a fish now?
-
I say synspilum, but it's hard to tell for sure.
Eitherway nice fish.
Herichthys Bartoni
in S/A & C/A cichlids.
