It is a uropthalamus. And as for dividers, use eggcrate works like a charm. And IMO, you shouldn't worry about Flowerhorns until you have a tank big enough for the fish you already have.
alright, thanks for the info.....any idea where I could get the eggcrate?
Any hardware store or lumber yard.

Your link just leads to a picture of the filter

Normaly a clicking sound indicates a piece of debris either in the impeller area or directly in the housing. Remove the filter and take the motor assembly off the casing, pull the assembly out of the housing and whipe it out with a Q-tip rinse it out and reassemble it. This should cure the problem.

If you want to do an off the forum auction, feel free to do so. But after the hassle of the online CLF auction we had last year we will not be doing anymore unless there is a specific and significant reason.

Try using photobucket.

If you can soak some garlic powder with chopped up earth worms he might eat them. The garlic works as a dewormer, I use it regularly for my discus.

This thread is supposed to be for members to list their plants. If you are looking for plants please pm the member or post in the buy and sell.

If you want to make up a plant list I will pin it at the top of the planted aquarium forum.

I'm not sure why, but it should work now.

Interresting list of fish. I wonder why they don't have Sauger on there.

What about using members videos with their permission?

OK, back to the starters. Zebra danios make excellent starter fish to get the tank established. Possibly some of the live bearers but not the mollies. White-clouds are also a suggestion.

How would angels get along with ACARICHTHYS HECKELII?
I keep them together with out issue

Best bang for your buck is the Rena filters. I have 4 of them and the only issue I've had is when one of the O-rings on the valve body needed replacing. I took it to Canadian Tire and got an automotive replacement one for under a quarter.

Ya i was just wondering If I was going to Start a discus tank... What is the size of tank needed. plus if there was a mini sized one or one that is smaller then the rest. Plus I heard they are alot of work.. it that true? Im a cichlid guy so, im not sure, but the colors are crazy on discus, plus do they need live plants in there? and Brackish water?
For a beginner with discus I would strongly recomend bare bottom tank, 30% water changes every second day, or more depending on age of discus and stocking level. Also brackish water would most likely kill them very quickly.
When I first got into discus I read a number of books about discus and spent quite a bit of time browsing this site:

Take your pick, but be aware of the power consumption.

okay i have 4 smaller angles that i would possibly like to move to my 50 gal but i have one med to large angel already in there... will their be issues should i leave them in the quarintine tank till i can get a 29gal running?
Normally it is not an issue to have smaller angels with larger ones.

You should be able to get the pane for around $100, it will be considerably more for the plywood tank

I have a couple of the 3-plus and 4-plus Fluvals. They are almost impossible to plug, but very limited on on media options.

I have not tried the FX5 either but I am quite happy with the 4 XP3 filters I have. I love the ease of service.
