  1. Very hard to say at this size....but with markings, shine, and hue shown I would guess green or turquoise base color.
  2. Long Pec's, very red lips, and big fins! You pick a winner! You can already see a little blush too....... And of course congratulations!
  3. Great pics Neil! I think he is looking better already and it's only been a few days. Give a month or two and I think he'll be amazing. :smokey: Take care, Bret
  4. Sounds like you have it under control then.
  5. 70 gal maybe a bit on the small side but will still work a 90 or 120 would be best. Dual pumps like mag drive 18's or 24's would get you decents circulation through 1" pipes each, and I alway perfer 2" returns. Use bio media like bio balls and ceramic rings, and fill that baby full. so remember that a 2640 gph pump with head and pipe loss with get you at the most 1700-1800 in the tank. I would keep the canisters too, circulating them in the sump not only will it help your tank, but in an emergency you could set up a tank or rubermaid for treatments using a canister trouble free. Also use GFCI breakers on your power supply alot cheaper than the alteritive. Best of Luck.
  6. That would be excellent, then add sump filtration and auto water chnager and all you need to do is feed. My only suggestion would be if you could get 30" deep you could have some room for some mid level dithers. Best of luck!

  13. Here is a video of my BMBXB. Doesn't give the aro much justice its hard to see the shine in the vid. He's about 23-24 inches and a little over 3 yrs from tag date. I moved him from the comm about 4 weeks ago into the 230, the six row shine just started....I really hope he will cross. Comments welcome. http://s98.photobucket.com/albums/l245/boy...rent=BMBXB2.flv
  14. Code states that houses built in the 60's have cement at roughly 700 psi which was code. I'd put a piece of plywood under the feet if I were you. Couldn't resist.....cement is an additive and concrete the result. They take 3 samples when pouring concrete and the three must be 500 psi or better, so you could have better concrete or worse is possible - if missed anything during the sampling procedure. What this means is a load of any more than 500 psi will crush the concrete regardless of how thick or well the grade under it has lasted over the years. Big tanks are serious, and must be taken seriously.
  15. I really like the stand the gussets and stock size are very good, however the little legs and bolts cause some concern. Bi-directional movement with the significant weight on them could collapse them like a fat person repositioning on a cheap chair. I'm sure the bolts are very strong however torsion and movement above will have no mercy on a 1 inch bolt - remember that water movement is going add left-right-back-and forth movement. The next big question is how strong is the concrete it will be point loading on? FYI - most concrete slab-on-grade are at building code which is rated at 500 psi (this is crushing integrity). And you want to put 800-900 psi on it. These are some facts, With that said - I suggest removing the legs and level the stand on your floor then use flat bar at various thickness to level the stand - this distributing the weight evenly. I understand how hard you have worked on this and time spent, but please take a little more time to consider some of the good advice presented to you. Best of Luck!
  16. Wow, interesting thread. :boxer: ....lots of opinions here. Variety is key, stuff food with good pellets like NLS, if they wont take staight pellets. Avoid trout rations and other cheap foods. Heres a sticky from another web site have a read.....and use your descression for what works for you and your fish. food for aros
