  1. I am in the middle of changing tanks, space, re-do, etc... so fish has to be relocating... I just quickly took some pictures... Mostly wood eaters... with a few L134 froggies, and a trio of Hyprancistrus. Residents L02 - tiger... guarding eggs. L137 - blue eye red fin... L134 - leopard frog Hyprancistrus sp. lower rio My 20 gallon long crystal red shrimp + cherry shrimp tank I setup this tank mainly to breed shrimp to feed my fish... My 33 gallon neon tetra tank Again, this tank is setup for using neon tetra as feeder. I can't seem to breed the shrimp fast enough to feed so neon tetra will do. resident... anywhere from 300-500... 125 gallon tank... almost empty... trying to make it into a catfish tank... resident in there includes a couple 6-8" adonis, L314, LDA46, L273, L47... That is it for today...
  2. L137 blue eye red fin - hiding in between wood. Adonis - only decent picture showing the long tail. L90 papa - hanging out together. Hyprancistrus sp. - The picture is underexposed so i have to adjust the lighting to show the pattern. I tried to keep it as close to the actual fish as possible. L134 leopard frog - under the wood and by the cave.
  3. all the fish above are in the same tank. It is a 260 gallon...
  4. You know what is crazy... His fish doesn't kill each other yet... I thought they are all supposed to be mean and aggressive fish...
  5. I was just taking a photo or two for the arow. to use in my background. I figure I might as well take photos of his amazing fish... I can't name them though... Just a regular DSLR with an old Tarmon marco len... All the pictures are taken without flash... Sometimes I dislike the flash to reflect too much color of the fish. Without the flash and just the aquarium light, you can see what the true color of the fish is... Flowerhorn Red texas Vieja Synspillum Midas pair Vieja Argentea
  6. Zaire and 7 stripe are totally different types of frontosa. Kigoma or usually named as 7-stripe frontosa is the true frontosa. Zaire types which includes Kitumba, moba, kapampa, kalumba, tembwe are gibberosa. I actually found more people complain about the aggression issue with Mpimbwe (a Tanz. type) the most.
  7. You won't be able to tell the sex for at least 5". Venting is the best way to tell. Burundi by far will give you the biggest hump on the head though it is not the best color of all the variants. If you like personality, Mpimbwe in general has that puppy dog behavior everyone likes and they have some nice blue in them. But if you like the deepest blue or purple with the best contrast of the stripe, you can't go wrong with any of the Zaire variants...
  8. I am sorry but this is my breeding group...
  9. The L134 is all mine... I am going to try to breed them...
  10. One of my Hyprancistrus breeder... My L134 group 3m/5f... Problem of keeping Hyprancistrus with the smaller froggie... The back is all scraped up by one of the hypran.. Another L134 hiding in the shadow... L190 Royal female - She is only 6". When I introduce her to the male which is 8" in the tank, I was worry. The male was real rough with her on the first 30 minutes chasing her all over. But now they are both sitting together nicely. And of course my adonis.
  11. good job Kyle... keep those pictures and update coming
  12. Thanks. Those pictures are taken under just the aquarium light without flash. I am still learning how to use flash to produce good pictures but so far, no luck...
  13. L02 Tiger - male does get hairy all over the body... You can sort of see the body hair on this male... L90 Papa - this is one of the smaller one. The bigger one has nicer and longer tail traitor. But this one likes to post... L137 Blue eye red fin L190 Royal - eye of the royal... Graeme, thanks...
  14. zuccini, bak choi, yam... depends on what kind of plecos... all of the above in the tank is wood eater so a heavy veggie base diet for them.
  15. Photos of my shrimps... (I breed them to feed my fish)... don't flame me... Hyprancistrus sp. (white base black lines) L90 Papa chewing on the wood. Veggie time... Check out the blue eye red fin at the back, this little one has very intense red on the dorsal and tail. Check out the blue eye red fin... The eye is really powder blue
  16. This is a real rare find... This fish has so much gold and red on it...
  17. The only reason that I know of is to grow the fin better.
  18. I was lucky enough to purchase a 15" show quality super red scarlet. The fish came in with clipped dorsal and tail. As you can see, the dorsal was clipped. The fish next to the scarlet is actually a 5-6" L147 peckoltia. You can see how massive this scarlet is. As of August 29, this jumbo pleco went home with another pleco fanatic who has a much bigger tank than me (300 gallon). I have to put a large bucket in my small 125 gallon tank to get the scarlet out. After that, I put the scarlet in a foam box. Bagging the fish is almost impossible. I just don't have the heavy gauge bags. Then I took a couple more pictures from the top down. And here is one of them. There were no enchanced color button or anything. The color of the fish is just like that when you see it in person... One thing I missed about this fish, it is very tamed. Many people have come and seen it wasn't scare of being touch, open the dorsal (show off how quickly it heals and the time it is leaving to a better and bigger home, almost fully healed), and tail to show off the color and pattern. I can even move it around the tank. And it will take prawn right out from my hand. It is quite an amazing fish...
  19. Not all, but some of the interesting one...
  20. L30 - although picture does not show, it has nice green spot on it. L31 peppermint - small tiny white spot all over the body. L177 queen nugget - nice orange color... Some pictures of our hyprancistrus sp.
  21. I feed them mostly zuccini, Bak choy, pellets, worms, prawns...
