  1. hhhhhmmmmmm......

OK first a bucket might do the trick IF i can get him out easily

there is nothing he can get stuck in he seems to be hanging out in the castle and it has large holes in it and lots of room inside

Pond melafix...where can I find that?

    Price?

    not much money right now

If I do a full treatment in the large tank, is there any cause for concern of the healthy fish?bala, angel, pleco, gourami??

  2. Ok I need some help, Yesterday I moved everyone around and in trying to make some happiness in my tanks again I moved my sharks, clown loach, and angels to a 75 Gallon tank because everyone was a little stressed. All was going good until @ about 8PM I heard a noise come from the filter(only one without a cover on the pipes) I ran over and unplgged it and took it apart to find that my clown had been sucked up into it. :(:(

When I got him out and back into the tank I could see that He has cuts on his mouth and gills. There is some tissue hanging off where it hit him. BTW he got sucked into an Aquaclear 500!!!

I only have the one as I cant seem to keep any others alive to stay with him. He loves swimming with the sharks as a school. Anyway he quickly hid into the castle at the back and has nt come out today. I can see him move once in a while but Im sure he is hurting big time. What can I use to help him without hurting anyone else in the tank. I understand that he has no scales and am not sure what to put with him for healing. Is salt Ok? what about the mela or Pima fix? Never used them before. I would do what ever it takes to help him as he is one of the families fav fish

    PLEASE HELP :(

Needless to say there is a cover on it now

  3. Well......Thanks.

This info has had me looking and I have been watching everyone in the tank carefully and so far noone else is showing any signs, granted the cobalt never showed any signs that I noticed before. I will keep my eyes open and will let you all know if it shows its ugly face again

  4. I came home tonight to find one of my cobalt blue cichlids dead and stuck in the filter system. It looks like he had blisters on him, or it was the pump slowly sucking him through. his eyes were very bulged and his guts half gone. When I was home at noon everyone was fine and i gave all a little to eat before going back to work. Wondering most of all if the blisters are something I should worry about or if they were from the filter. I will be checking all of my levels tomorrow when I get home.

PLease help! I dont want to lose anyone else

  5. I have a flameback holding right now and I was wondering what the smallest size tank I can put the fry in. I will strip the female if I have to, I dont plan on putting her into the fry tank and waiting till she spits. But If I know what size is the smallest tank that I can have then I will strip her(now that all you smarties have shown me how). I have 2,2.5Gal tanks empty and am hoping to be able to put them in there

  6. YES, she is definetly holding then!! She looks just like that one, that sack sort of beats in her throat.

I wouldn't mind having 2 or 3 more but i dont have the room for them. The best I have is 2, 2.5Gal tanks, one hex and one short , the 10 that I have is leaking. This is the first time that she was like this and I got her in Nov, so maybe I'll wait till next batch.

  7. Holding? Is that when the fish holds the babies or eggs in her mouth until they are ready or do i misunderstand. My flameback female hasn't eaten in a while and her mouth is very big compared to how I remember it looking. Not sure as I am pretty new to the Cichlid circuit. Dont know why it took me so long to get into it.

Well ok I do. No Hockey!!

anyway, do I remove her and put her somwhere else or do I just let her do her thing and hope for the best. If I hope for the best, then should i remove the fry when they are seen?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

  8. Im not sure what people think of this idea but i have had ich on mine before and i had a friend tell me to turn up my temp to 82 degrees for 2 weeks. Seemed to work, the spots went away and the eggs still hatched. It hasn't come back and the temp is back to about 78.

  9. Congratulations!!

I just found out an hour ago that both of my convicts have fry hidden, I gave both a very nice castle type thing to live in, in a 75 gallon long tank and they love it. No big fighting anymore, just a little chacing. What are you supposed to do with the fry after they start to get big?? I see at least twenty inside each home.
