  1. Ju ask and ju shall recieve. And how bout a couple growth shots and a cool one I snapped of my favia avec feeder tentacles.
  2. Hes open til 8:30 during the week and 6 on the w/es I think.
  3. Dont do it Shark. I'll quote another reefer " reef tanks are like crack except more money". All kidding aside you should, I'm finding it very rewarding.I swaped out my big nasty power suckin AC 50 PH for a "koralia 1" and scored a couple more kinds of shrooms. Some orange yuma rics, and some dark green and red ones(not sure of the species).
  4. What Shark said. Unfortunately there arent many bottom dwelling clean up type fish that can withstand the constant harassment from cichlids. Some guys have had success with clown loaches. If you do go with synodontis cats, most species do better in groups,so the more the marrier.
  5. Well the list of what you know you have sounds ok. The person you got them from wasnt having any issues we they? The tiger barbs can be a little nippy and sometimes gouramis can be evil though I've never had any trouble with the smaller spieces. Guess weather or not you should split them up depends on the unidentified fish.
  6. Well everyone on the site knows I dont like to take pics. :smokey: I will see what I can do and how good my cam is. They are pretty wee.
  7. Well I managed to save a few of the babies. I probably could have saved more but I didnt want to keep my help standing there to long. Funny thing was as I started trying to catch the little ones I found three larger fry from a previous spawn that I compleatly missed. So anyway I now have around twelve or so cylindricus fry growing out in a 10g. :smokey:
  8. Sweet... that kicks the heck outta the last time you went. I'm envious. Just moved last month and havnt had the chance to get out yet. Was gonna flyfish the Bow on sunday but the water is to high and muddy right now. Didnt want to end up like the two boneheads that died on the Bow last night.
  9. Jeez, does anyone else feel a bit dumber after reading the previous post? Cool idea Taylor
  10. WOW *standing here with lower jaw bone on the floor* kilamanjaro (sp?)
  11. couple more frags and the redish star polyps that finally decided to show themselves.
  12. Hagen makes a line of HOT5 lights, single or dual strips (6900k,18000K and actinic bulbs). Full curve reflector. Three mounting options. Not sure if they make a 30" unit or not. I have two 2x24w 24' units over my 20g reef and I'm pleasantly surprised with them. And they are relatively cheep.
  13. You should Jerry....I humed and hahed about it for years thinking it was to difficult, to costly and to time consuming. Then a few months ago I went into a LFS that has a beautiful little 10g nano running and that was it. I quickly went home ,got on the computer and start reading. Then I started to get discouraged again as there is alot of conflicting info and opinions out there and some seriously complicated and pricey systems. So I went to every LFS in cowtown and started asking them about it and found out that a saltwater tank can be as low or high tech as you want to make it. Which is good cause at times I am financially challenged. Lighting is really the biggest cost(for a small tank) and possibly the live rock. I was originally gonna do a 15g but they dont make to many 20" lights so I went with the 20g and am glad I did. Now I'm looking at my 55g and my 110g and hmmm that would make a great reef tank :smokey: But I cant ...think my g/f would leave me. :boxer: They can be time consuming. It takes me a couple hours on the w/e to do the water change and cleaning and a few minutes every day to top up with fresh water and clean the glass. But over all its really not as hard as people make it out to be. I'm really glad I took the plunge into the salt.
  14. Would make a pretty schweet reef.
  15. I'm guessing neolamprologus "dafodil" pulcher. pretty little guys what ever they are.
  16. Noticed a week ago that my cylindricus female was guarding a clutch of eggs. Looked the next day and the eggs were gone. I thought that she either aborted and ate them or the plecos got to them.Well I poked my head in there today to find a couple dozen free swimming fry. The problem is I need to move the tank(75g) in a couple days. I will probably have to strip the tank right down to bare bottom to move it, and I think once I start pulling the aquascaping out the fry will disappear into the gravel. I would like to raise them If at all possible...Any suggestions?
  17. Well all my stressin was for nothing, the tank move went off without a hitch and most of the corals were opened up that same day. WHEW! So this week I decided to kick the tank up a notch and bought an AquaC remora skimmer, and a couple more zoa frags.
  18. Sweet tank fin  ...are you runnin co2?
  19. Dude I LOVE pigeon. My buddy and I had our best day ever up there. Its a bit of a drive from cowtown, so we only get up there once or twice a year. We went camping up there a couple years ago just to try our luck fishing and didnt know a thing about the lake. We asked the gal at the campsite office where a good place to fish would be, and she told us alot of people fish 50 yards or so of the boat launch. It was to windy to fish the first evening we got there so the next morning we were the first boat on the lake. We putted out a little ways and thought we'd drop anchor to get our rods ready to go. My buddy got his schtuff together first and threw a cast in while he waited for me to get set up. He had an eye on his first cast and three before I even got my line wet. We spent the whole day anchored on that spot and probably caught 40 or so each(not a fish tale). There was about 20 other boats around us by the end of the day and every one was doing as well as we were. LOVe that lake. Wish it was closer to me.
  20. Have digital cam, not affraid to use it. Should I chill out with the pics? I don't know bout ya'll but I never get tired of looking at other peeps tanks. Wish more peeps here would ante up with more pics. Love to see the progress and what people are doin with their tanks. On a differant note I moved (all our furniture) yesterday, and will be moving the saltwater tank today I hope it goes well and I dont lose anything ,or worse crash the tank. I'm nervous.
