  1. I am in the process of building a cabinet for my 135 FOWLR. At the moment the tank (6ft long) has a 4 ft coralife 4x65 watt pc light on it. I would like to gut the coralife and build the lights into the canopy, staggered to cover the full 6 ft. Has anyone attempted this sort of thing? Is it possible? Any advise would be welcome.
  2. Well, the big move was a success...except for the Royal Gramma. My Picasso Trigger destroyed it. They got along just fine in the old tank, but as soon as all the live rock was out... :chair: Everything else is happy and none the worse for wear.
  3. I feel you frustration Waterlogged. I'm haveing a hell of a time balancing my nano. This thread has helped.
  4. The tank has lots of flow, one 400L/hr PH and one 100L/hr PH. The lights are reef sun 50/50 15w amd coral sun 15w. Both are three months old. The other livestock are a handful of small blue leg hermits, two nassarus(don't think thats even close to right spelling)snails, one turbo snail and a small two line damsel. The damsel and the shrip are being evicted soon. The damsel won't leave the shrimp alone, and the shrimp won't leave the hammer coral alone, the hammer hates them both. I think reducing the lighting time would help (lit for 9hrs/day). My "K" is low in spite of a product I was assured would bring it up and balance it. Any recommended product? Thanks Murm.
  5. I have had a 10 gal nano running for about 3 months now, and in the past three weeks I have been getting green slime/algae growing on the sand and glass. It seems to form a carpet on the sand. I'm not quite sure what it is or how to get rid of it.
  6. I need some advise on transfering a tank. I bought a 130gal tank (my fish will one day outgrow their current tanks) and I need to move all fish, rock & sand from two smaller tanks into the big one. I would like to minimize stress on the fish as much as possible. I need to move everything in one shot, I can't set up the new tank until the old ones are moved(only place for the new tank is where the old tanks now sit). Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
  7. Thanks for the replies. I didn't try copper because two of my fish are puffers, a dogface and a valentini, and I was told it would kill them. Well, the dogface was one of the casualties, so I'm down to one now. As for the cleaner shrimp...if the puffers didn't eat it, I'm sure the trigger would.
  8. Ok, I need advice about curing marine ick. It started with one fish which I quarentined right away and started treatment with Kick-ick. Now every fish in the tank is showing signs of it. I have been treating the whole tank for two weeks with kick-ick and it's just getting worse. The original fish and one from the tank have died. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks
