  1. Hi,

I have a jbj 28 gallon nanocube. One of the pumps was making a weird noise so I took it apart. the shaft of the impeller is broken. Where can I get a replacement impeller? its acella pump and cant find much on it. it is rated for 266 gph and I really just want to replace the impeller instead of buying a whole new pump. Any help is appreciated.

  2. A quick update: tank is doing well. had one shrimp die but I see LOTS of moulted shell all over the tank. I found 3 baby shrimps...I think they are blue. The tank is a mix of culls (brown, blue, and red). Some of the reds are getting brighter and some blues are blue except the middle part of the body which is just clear. I think I might have hydra...can really tell but I have been doing water changes and feeding less. So far so good. Jayba have some fenbendazole for me just in case.

  3. I have a filterless, heaterless planted nano tank. It is doing well with plants and shrimps. I will be away for 1.5 weeks. I cannot feed at that time. Is this going to be an issue? Plants are just anubias, a bit of moss, and pothos on top for nitrate removal. It has neocaridina type shrimps which are thriving and actually found a baby one as well.

    Thanks.

  4. No puffers can be trusted as they are very nippy...but as puffers go, they are one of the least aggressive . I like them but they require a lot more work as you will mostl likely need to perform " dentistry" as their beaks grows fast. Basically knocking them out and manually trim their beaks. All my South American puffs were like that. Constant snail feeding decrease the amount of trimming but find not eliminate it. Ust too much work for my liking di I got rid of them. Just my experience with these inquisitive puffs.

  5. It took about 2-3 months to get them to one inch...which is when I started selling them as they were starting eat each other. I say at least 75 percent survived as I got rid of the big ones as they hit one inch. I fed them NLS simple and less waste. They fed immediately after dropping from the mom. Took mom out asap as well.

  6. I used to breed electric blue crayfish. Give her space and don't disturb too much. Move the male as it is easier. Once you get the 75 gallon ready...you can transfer her and the lil ones. I did not have any problem with change in water. I had a lot of plastic floating "plants" and lots of cave (old film canisters) You will need lots of hiding place so they do not cannibalize on each other. I bred them in those gift wrapper Rubbermaid under my couch! changed water often and fed lots (hence the water changes).

    Good luck!
