my opinion...2.5 gallon would be sufficient for one dwarf puffer. I know a li'l bit about puffer so if you have any question...fire away.

you will not be able to tell until about 2 weeks. Blue will look yellowish tan and bgjd will look normal grey. look for the runts as well as they are smaller.

unfortunately, i do not think you will be able to sell all your fry...maybe a handful but not for much. convicts are the bunnies of the cichlid world and basically mate with anything. if you have other bigger cichlids...you can use them as feeders.

pimafix works for fungus.

check out canreef for cheaper rocks. I remember buying 60 lbs worth of live rocks for less than 100 dollars. Just gotta look and bit of luck. I had great success with my low tech saltwater. Had to trade in lots of rocks because it was covered with zoas and soft corals. You can also use tufa rocks as base rock and that worked well for me...after one year...you cannot tell which ones where tufa and original live rocks.

i think eventually they will be food especially after a molt. not a great ideas considering it cost a bit buying them from petland. i would separate them in a tank of their own. get rid of one male and get another female.

pea puffers can be aggressive fin nippers. dont let its size fool you.

There is not way to tell whether or not it would be a blue gene. only breeding with an ebjd or another bgjd will guarantee that. its probably just another mislabeled cichlid.

When i bred triple reds, i just used regular red deer water. i did have a HUGE amount of javamoss which they and the fry loved. i use terra cota as caves.

what a long journey...2+ years and finally here they are at around 1.5-2 inches. Definately going to miss this part of fish keeping.Excuse the quality of the pics.

I would like to extend my big THANK YOU to AA and staff. The staff and members have made fishkeeping more fun and less expensive. Throughout my fishkeeping in the past 5+ years...i was able to breed many fish such as apisto triple reds, plakats, peacock gudgeon, and AB-EBJDs. I am making a lot of changes in our lives right now such as planning on moving, growing daughter, and acquiring another puppy.

I will be back, just need to take with my family as Emi is growing too fast. I already sold my breeding group of ebjd to a nice member and i

have my ebjd "fry" for sale right now. I will make package deal for those who are interested. I will also post more items to come.

LOL. THANKS! BUT they were great fish from the beginning so I cant even take credit for it either.

i use SAFE and i use about 1/8th of a teaspoon to treat approximately 50 gallons. Neil mentioned 1/8th can treat 60 gallon but i just use 50 anyways.

Growing bigger and bluer everyday. Side note...more eggs. not sure if i will separate and raise the wigglers yet.

i thought red rams were bolivian rams but these ones looks like blue rams...just a bit stressd.

yup i think it is a stressed out blue ram. initially i thought maybe bolivian but the more i look at it themore i think it is a blue ram.
