  1. I'll shoot some shots over Christmas and make sure the glass is clean. For now, here are some shots from the different tanks.

BN from the 20 gallon long:

Full tank shot of 20 gallon. The plants have been moved out. I am looking at going low-light with the tank.

  2. I am thinking of changing up the aquascapes in my 20 and 25 gallon tanks. I want to create some levels. I was thinking of using a flexible plastic to create the divisions I need and to keep the sand from sliding forward and then covering up the divider with driftwood and the plants.

What do you use for the divider? How do you keep it in place? Thanks.

  3. Sorry, I've never used the 2028. I have three 2217s and I love them, though. Simple concept but it works.

From a quick look on the net, the 2028 seems to be easier to prime, but that is more of a first time pain rather than a constant struggle with the 2217. Also, there is a maintenance indicator on the 2028, which tells you when you need to go in and change something. I rarely open up my canisters, so that is not a major sell for me either. On the Pets and Ponds site, you are spending an extra $100 for those functions. Your call. HTH.

  4. On the recommended dosing for EI, I should be dosing three times a week. I have switched to once a day with the same dosing per day as what was recommended for three days a week. I have 3.6 wpg and lots of pressurized CO2. I have seen better pearling and growth. But I am still wondering if I am overdosing to the point that it might become harmful to my fish. Thoughts?

  5. Thanks, guys. First pic is flash with lights on, second one is just tank lights. I want to move the hoses outside the tank and just split it sooner on the line coming out of the filter. That way I will never see them when I prune the plants down. I am looking at the Rotala macrandra and one of them has about an inch or two before it hits the water line!

  6. One of the things I love about having the planted tank is that my other tanks are becoming planted with the excess growth! This tank now is home to Lilaeopsis mauritiana and a ton of Rotala rotundifolia. Pictures will be coming.
