Thanks, everyone.

Some changes have occurred:

Looks awesome! The grouped plants look really good. A vertical piece of driftwood might break up the right hand side of the tank. This set up makes me want to go big with a planted tank!
-
Nice fish.

I am thinking of changing up the aquascapes in my 20 and 25 gallon tanks. I want to create some levels. I was thinking of using a flexible plastic to create the divisions I need and to keep the sand from sliding forward and then covering up the divider with driftwood and the plants.
What do you use for the divider? How do you keep it in place? Thanks.

Make sure the glass is wet and use a razor blade. Don't move the blade sideways and you should be fine.

Gorgeous! What type of lights do you have on the tank?

Sorry, I've never used the 2028. I have three 2217s and I love them, though. Simple concept but it works.
From a quick look on the net, the 2028 seems to be easier to prime, but that is more of a first time pain rather than a constant struggle with the 2217. Also, there is a maintenance indicator on the 2028, which tells you when you need to go in and change something. I rarely open up my canisters, so that is not a major sell for me either. On the Pets and Ponds site, you are spending an extra $100 for those functions. Your call. HTH.

Nice fish!

Looks good, Taylor!

Thanks, Jason. Is the part about macro/micro dosing on different days part of the EI pinned thread? If not, it might be a helpful addition.
-
Thanks, Jason. Which are the micros in EI?
-
I've noticed this question comes up a lot. Do you think we could add a pinned thread explaining how people can use photobucket or image shack?
-
On the recommended dosing for EI, I should be dosing three times a week. I have switched to once a day with the same dosing per day as what was recommended for three days a week. I have 3.6 wpg and lots of pressurized CO2. I have seen better pearling and growth. But I am still wondering if I am overdosing to the point that it might become harmful to my fish. Thoughts?

I have been battling some hair algae because of some neglect before the big switch up to macronda. I went from fertilizing three times a week to once a day and it has seemed to make a big difference.

Thanks, guys. First pic is flash with lights on, second one is just tank lights. I want to move the hoses outside the tank and just split it sooner on the line coming out of the filter. That way I will never see them when I prune the plants down. I am looking at the Rotala macrandra and one of them has about an inch or two before it hits the water line!

Update on the growth. You can see the bubbles on the HC!
-
Nice group. I love seeing them slowly munching on their food.
-
Thanks, guys. I picked up the black sand a long time ago from Big Al's. Thankfully I kept it in a pail for a while and didn't throw it out.
-
I can see the appeal. It's nice because it is such a sustainable activity. I grow them in the planted tank with the extra lights and the CO2 and then move them to the other less-technological tanks.

One of the things I love about having the planted tank is that my other tanks are becoming planted with the excess growth! This tank now is home to Lilaeopsis mauritiana and a ton of Rotala rotundifolia. Pictures will be coming.

Alright, I have it planted with some room around each stem and if needed I can jack up the CO2. Thanks for the info.

I'll shoot some shots over Christmas and make sure the glass is clean. For now, here are some shots from the different tanks.
BN from the 20 gallon long:
Full tank shot of 20 gallon. The plants have been moved out. I am looking at going low-light with the tank.
25 gallon tank with some active whiteclouds and galaxies:
