stay away from from Coralife skimmers, they don't skim worst a dam. Most people who buy them eventually sell them because of disappointing performance. Those who keep them, don't know better. You need to provide us a little more info about your setup/livestock, etc... for us to better assist you. There are endless brands and price ranges these days. Best advise as always is to not skim on a skimmer as you will pay double in the end.

If I were you, get another one or two Aquaclear 500/110. These one of the most economical, effecient, and easy to use filters for freshwater application. I don't believe cannisters and W/D fall in the same category, atleast in my personal experience. I currently run 3 AC 110 on my 125g and I am very happy with them, would not change it for anything else even if it was free.

I am setting up an african tank with large limestones and would like to add dark colored sand. Perhaps brown or black. I've used play sand before and rather not go that route again. Where can I find 50lb of quality sand in Calgary?

I just finished with a similar setup in a 125g. So far the Anubias are doing well with no fish in the tank yet. I've seen at least 10 new leaves so I gues it's liking the water and light. My biggest concer is the growth of algae that is accumulating on the leaves. I need some plecos to take care of this problem. Any suggestion on the type of plecos? Is your blue phamtom helping at all with the algae on the plants?
