  1. ok...... thank u Randy!! that answers my question!!
  2. just checked out a link on the aquatica website.... supposed to stop all diseases etc... by ionizing the water in the tank and "zapping" the impurities ! Has anyone out there tried this product ?? if so, what's your take on it?
  3. thanks... i've started that... what about eating? mine took some blood worms the 1st couple of times but now, doesn't seem interested...
  4. thank you... so, how much salt should I use?... I've already separated him n put him in a hospital tank.... he's just hanging around the heater and filter intake which are next to each other.I put in a coil type tube(the ones that you protect your electronic cords with) in the tank so he has a place to "hide"... how long did it take to see yours start to heal ??
  5. I did... not the nitrate tho.. and I knew what the readings were gonna be as it had been awhile since my last change (I know.. shame on me) I've been quite busy... but.. my question now is: when I get him into the hospital tank.. should I treat him with PimaFix or Melafix ? maybe a bit of salt ? or just leave it be ? Also, I have yet to see the yellows pickin on him... they've been together for quite some time.. thank you for your reply... I appreciate all the help... PS.. for now the yellow will have to stay where they are... I've nowhere else for them...
  6. thank you for your reply... I did do filter change and have been adding Pimafix ... I am wanting to put him in a hospital tank and was just waiting for the temperature to reach what he is used to... Dar :-)

  8. Hello everyone.. I need information/help... I have a tire track eel who is suffering from something... his body has what looks like spots where skin has lifted off... and his tail is raggedy..he used to be holed up in a small container I had in there for a "hiding" spot... he seemed to like it when I added him to the tank... but.. it's almost as though the "hiding container" was too small and with his length growing.. I'm thinking these spots are "worn down areas" from being scrunched up in there... anyone have any idea what I should use to help him heal ? He's gonna be coming outta there and into a hospital tank (5 gal)... presently he's in a 25 tall with 11 electric yellows.. thanks all !
  9. maybe.... but I've had them for quite a while now...... and what about the raqinbows..... ? they have the same thing going on....

  13. Hi there.... I wanna thank everyone who responded to my last cry for help.... unfortunately I lost some fish .... but now... I've noticed something different.... there are red marks on a few of my fish in the 72G ... interesting that it hasn't affected all of them.... here are some pics .... not all are clear.. sorry... the red marks are on the bottom fin and just a little bit ahead of the anal passage.... the affected fish are 2 giant gourami, the rainbows.... WELL, I THOUGHT I COULD ATTACH THE PICS BUT FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IT....
  14. Hi.... I need advice... ! I've been fighting with balance in my 72 tank.... it's been set up for awhile now but these past 2 days, I've had a spike of Nitrite.... It's a planted tank... I've got 1 pair dwarf gouramis, 3 gouramis (giant I think - they're larger) already lost one.... had 2 parrot - lost one, small to mid size, 5 young australian rainbows, 5 neon rainbows, 1 large clown loach, 1 small clown loach, 3 sword tails,3 other small loaches (stripes / specs), 1 albino algae, 3 other small algae eaters, 10 bottom feeders..... they've all been introduced at different times... but recently the last bunch added was a qty of 8 or so. I've been doing water changes and adding prime and algae reducer.... I'm panicking because it doesn't seem to be helping! How long should I wait before doing more water changes ? Dark Angel tried to help me out but we got confusing results while using 2 different test kits to test the nitrite/amonia/ph.... etc. It was the nitrite that was conflicting. Personally, I use the Hagen test kits... Dark Angel used Hagen as well as another. Does anyone have any further advice?????? Thanks for your response..... Dar
  15. dunno yet... I'm hoping to make 2 tanks out of it.... one will definitely b a community and not quite sure about the other side....
