Maybe not you.. But obviously others have....
this has been both educational , and very frustrating,
forget pike......
i just cant get over that i can legally posses snakeheads which are known to devastate ecosystems but the thought of yankin some damn pike out of a slough is poo pooo'd because of the whats if's and maybe howcomes like everything els out there it doesnt make sence lol
so in conclusion...... forget the pike
no one said release......
im not some 15 year dipshit here people.
everyone always looks at the doom and gloom , what xabout hey guy thats cool you want to study and habitate a local fish...
im wondering how noone realizes i have 6 bullseye snakeheads in a tank right now... not planning on releasing thm, nor would i rlease a damn pike in some body of watr there arent already pike in....
I think it was hassey lake out past spruce grove had to be limed to kill all fish species because someone dumped stikkleback in the lake.. also in stalbert they have some pond next to the big lake they want to lime because they dont want a species to get into big lake sturgeon river...
also in banff there is a hotspring that people put tropical fish in... they put extinct the native fish that were there...
I would be totally pissed if they had to lime my lake because someone thouught it would be cool to raise pike then decide to get rid of them in the closest lake when they get to big

Is this a store fish club?? calgary ... AA ""?? etc?
Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the nice comments. Fish club members get 15% of our already low prices.
We take requests so if there's something you would like just let us know and if it is feasible we will try our best to make it happen. Rare wild bettas are available to order on request.
We just got in another 4000 fish today, lots of unique stuff like shrimp, crayfish, frogs, different types of rare fish. They look great but they are under quarantine so won't be available for sale yet.
Much more to come.
We will also be a sponsor on this forum as well.

If it were wasting disease wouldn't there be sores or heavy breathing?
No, not necessarily. The problem with cases of "wasting disease" is rarely are lab cultures taken, or necropsies performed to ascertain exactly what caused the fishes demise. Years back when I was a mod on cichlid-forum I ran into the symptoms that you describe on a weekly basis, but exactly what triggered this symptom in each fish was impossible to say. Some cases could be fish TB, some could have been parasites, and others perhaps an unknown strain of bacteria. Your fish is eating normally so we should be able to rule out internal parasites, that leaves bacterial, or viral.
I would recommend treating the infected fish with Kanamycin sulfate.
It's a broad spectrum antibiotic that treats both gram positive & gram negative bacteria.

Be prepared for the worse, many fish simply don't react positively to any form of medication once the disease has become too advanced.
Good luck!
Where would you purchase these products?

Why does it matter if the fish are in the same region as angelfish?
I do not understand this thinking.. Unless the fish are wild caught and you plan on adjusting the water.. They are all swimming in treated or aged tap water? They were most likely born into tap water.
Discus usually are in adjusted tap water I can see but.... I think it is more about temperment of the fish you are combining, and the ability of all fish to be able to get at food in the tank..
Goldfish lower PH from what i understand because of pollution of ammonia. I could be wrong but this is what i was told once and it made allot of sense. If you are looking to cycle the tank then that should be no problem if you just move the filter over with the fish.
One BIG reason is that goldfish grow BIG. Another is the temp difference between the two. Goldfish like it to be around 22 degrees and Angelfish being tropical more than likely will like it at 25 or 26 degrees and if not you still want to match the temp relatively well between the two tanks.
Go with Cardinal Tetras or something like listed above that are found in the same region as the Angelfish. I'm not sure but there may be some snacking but more than likely not.
Good luck

I have not seen any spencer jack orders of late. Has this fallen out of favor? Or am I just missing it?

I bought mine off an online Vet medicine store,,, A lil goes along ways....
http://www.agrilabs.com/locator.aspx this is the brand name..... I will see if I can find where I bought it from
try fendbendazole/flubendazole though it works best when administered in food.
the big benefit to levamisole is it works as a bath..but remember it must be dosed at least twice.
levimisole is not discontinued but rather some ingredient is unavailable ...or not able to pass regulations..
so they are not currently producing it

What should the high side gauge read? and Is there an indicater you can take from it to know your tank is gettin low?
-
I read something somewhere sometime that the white PVC was preferrable to the black pvc? Do no if there is a differemce.. but I say it on different occasions.
John - not to worry, PVC pipe is fine in a fish tank.

After all the animals that suffered and died because of the ease of which pet foods are regulated for ingredients,,
I say good for my pets..
China can keep there melamine laced food, Kudos to the government..
Complain to the government or the agency that is responcible. Let them know they are killing pets due to starvation so they better do something quick and that might get them going on the Hikari issue.Good luck

P.S. you could always try to get it over the internet and maybe with how new this is you might just make it through customs regardless of the new regs.

With the pressurized system, have we come up with a dependable place to get your c02 refilled? I have my own bottle not one I bought from a place that dispenses.
So the question is what place in Edmonton can I walk into and they will fill my bottle? It was formerly a Pop companys bottle so thats out of the question..
