  1. On another note. I used to work at KFC for a few years. For some reason the new employees think that when you stir the oil that it cools it down. They don't understand you need to heat it up. Also if they're trying to make extra crispy chicken(extra breading) for you but don't realize they should at the least cook it under the dark meat setting, You get grease drenched chicken. However if it is done right you will have no grease at all. I look for the KFC with middle aged people working.

As for the other forums... Well I have spent a lot of time on the other forums lately because every time someone has a good opinion(not saying the current ones are good) they get reviewed to the vendor review survey that isn't all up to date and shut down with their opinion. bcaquaria openly accepts criticism about their vendors. It's only bad for the vendors if they aren't delivering what they promise.

  2. The long and the short of it is: if you have a problem with one of the top rated stores on the Survey, I'll eat my hat. If you have a problem with a lower ranked store, or a store that didn't even make the survey, then what the heck did you expect? Is the store you'd like to warn the world about one of the top ranked?? I'll go out on a limb and say "probably not".

This is like going to a food connoisseur website and complaining because you got gut-rot from KFC... if you eat good food, you make good turds, you'll live happy.

If you like a store, or hate a store, send me a PM with the store info. I'll include it in the next survey and we'll give the community a chance to sound off on them. Eventually I hope to develop a VRS that can be done one store at a time, and will tally along as entries are completed. This will allow 'reviews on the fly' and more of a real-time collection than the annual system I have in place, now. But until I get that sorted out... work with what we've got, support the top tier stores who support your hobby, and eat good food.

Sounds good, I look forward to the future. Sorry for being such a pain in the rear.. I realize I am.. I am suffering from a barrage of things right now including ocd. I tend to go nuts over a little thing like it's the end of the world.

  3. I post critical comments about everything and have never had an issue. I do have an issue with stores who do not welcome critical comments. Scientifically I find critical comments necessary to move forward. I posted a review about the cleanliness of a restaurant who had dirty dishes on every table. Washed me one fork, I didn't even get a knife. And the place was sticky. Never had any issues with legal problems. Oh and fyi, many stores do diagnose your fish and dispense meds. Might I remind you of my recent order from tfdfish.com which I didn't make due to a large number of people claiming a high death rate with certain species from them. It was done in pm, but wouldn't it be nice if everyone was aware?

  4. many other forums do not shut down peoples opinions of local shops and point them to a vendor survey that doesn't encompass all fish stores or opinions. They have never faced legal consequences. I most recently posted a vendor review on another alberta forum with the hopes that someone who might care for the petstore would see it and educate their workers. I do know your point about new people jumping to conclusions though. I would hope that no one new goto the petstore I reviewed until their employees have become properly educated.

  5. Just think if there is an issue, or some store has come down with a parasite problem. I would like to know about it. I would like to know how to treat fish from that store in case I bought some. And I'd like to be aware that the fish in my tank may be at risk. Just don't like that I'm not allowed to post honest opinions about the stores in the area. I recently was in a store handing out bad advice. Now most members in here know what bad advice is. But it would be nice to know that the fish in question is not going to eat your fish poop and you need to feed them properly.

  6. I believe there have been a few references on planted aquarium sites to just letting black hair algae run it's course and it'll go away on it's own as excess nutrients settle down. I would imagine one of your levels is high.
