*giggles* those goldfish are at my house now lol....and that type of drift wood...it looks like its gonna take at least 5 months and the type of wood you have may end up swelling and breaking up on its own...

hey so reading around on here ive decided to buy the hagen GRO t5 light fixtures for my 80 gallon aquarium, however im wondering if just one double lighting unit will do it for me if the aquarium is planted? or will i need to buy more? or is there another brand i should consider (not coralife lol)?

i tried keeping them as well at one point in my 20 gallon....and most of them lasted around 4 months...but they werent doing to well the entire time and i could never figure it out ...and back then i wish i knew this forum existed lol because theres always someone on here who knows a great deal more than i do :boxer:

lol...ah yes the rainbow fish, i had had a similar incident happen to me a while back with my cardnal tetras...unfortunatly i figured it out after only 4 of 16 were left lol, but yea...never bought another rainbow fish after that to be honest

hey im starting a new 80 gallon aquarium and im basicly wondering what would be some good plants to use in a set up...and whats a good set-up lol...and if theres any donations id gladly accept those too :P....and i have no clue what to really use for lighting...i just got the stock flouresent on there right now and its only 38 watts, will i need c02? or fert?

i have used tiles before as substrate and they work great, however the first time i did this i just bought them from a home depot and when you buy them you have to make sure they dont have anything on them because if you use the ones with the white powder residue on the bottoms and dont clean them properly...well goodbye fishies. good luck though as they do work nicely if used correctly
