  1. Just rescaped my last year's tank. The tank is less than 2 weeks old. The glosso seems to be adapting. The hair grass, I had to remove and replant again. It's a lot easier to start from scratch! http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN9182.jpg Also, does anyone know the names of these plants? 1. Looks like a Rotala Wallichi http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN9179.jpg 2. Looks like Rotala Rotundifolia http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN9180.jpg 3. What is the red plant? http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN9187.jpg I'll be posting more in the next few weeks.
  2. Not much has changed. Anyway, here's a new one. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5344.jpg
  3. I few more pictures... The otocinclus is doing a pretty good job and has cleaned quite a few brown algae. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5310.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5309.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5320.jpg Here is a treat holder for the O-cat and shrimps. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5306.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5305.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5303.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5301.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5298.jpg Mountain look shot. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5313.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5334.jpg Base camp shot. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5327.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5324.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5322.jpg Three Cardinals. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5312.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5311.jpg

    Nice! Otocinclus at 1:10.
  5. Here's how I used the "Golden ratio" in this project. The circle represents the focal point. The yellow vertical and horizontal follow the Golden ratio. The red lines show how triangular symmetry was used in the layout. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5033Iwagumi.jpg
  6. I like the calvus! great pics!!
  7. Thanks. Betta and Mko. I'll keep posting until the tank matures. Iwagumis arent too bad. There are rules around it which sometimes limits your flexibility. (golden ratio, plant and rock (size and type) selection) Here are some links to creating Iwagumis. The golden ratio is very important http://www.aquascapist.com/aquascaping/using-the-golden-ratio-in-aquascaping/#comment-561 http://www.aquajournal.net/na/iwagumi/index.html http://www.thegreenmachineonline.com/articles/tips-techniques/aquatic-layout-guide-rules-composition-the-golden-ratio-creating-perspectiv

I do EI dosing but I premixed them myself and put them in pump bottles so that I get the ADA feel Haha. (Same concept as the ADA Brighty K and Green Brighty) I use KNO3, KH2PO4, K2SO4, Epsom Salts, and Seachem Flourish. See dosage below. http://www.bcaquaria.com/forum/plants-algae-ferts-ei-co2-lighting-13/intro-ei-estimated-index-82/ Keep posting.
  9. Thanks Troni, Im glad you like them. I was refferring to Nature Aquarium Style of aquascaping. And if there was anyone into the style. See link below. http://amanotakashi.net/portfolio/nature_aquarium/index.html Nature's Corner Store is a nice store also.
  10. Great thanks. How much do you think if you sell? Does it scratch easily?

    Mko's 15 Gallon

I went to Aquarium Illusions a couple of weeks ago. They had a custom rimless tank that the owner did not buy. Maybe it was yours. Anyway, nice tank. Any plans of rescaping? Im deliberating if I should get an ADA tank next year or just get the Hagen Waterhome aquarium. If I get the Hagen, it will look like my 10 gallon tank and will make my 2 tanks uniform (which will look good also plus its 3 x cheaper). If I get the ADA, I'll get a clearer one but more expensive. BTW, Big Al's has a ton of those rocks that I have on my Iwagumi tank just in case.

Cool man. Where did you get the rimless tank at the bottom?
  13. Thanks Man. I only have this one as I don't have enough space for now plus I like the nano setups. Next year, I'll be making a 15 or 20 gallon, I kinda have something in mind already or I might do a triangular composition like yours. I got this from Jayba. The pipes are good and took about 2 weeks. I should have purchased another one for my tank next year. I got the 13 mm one as that fits my Eheim 2213. Jayba, on 04 November 2011 - 11:25 AM, said: I bought mine off ebay. No complaints, shipping takes a little while, but for the price who cares. http://www.ebay.ca/i...=item3caa458094
  14. Someone suggested me to get fish so I got cardinals and an otocinclus. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5216.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5214.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5207.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5213.jpg
  15. This week's update: 1. 5 Cherry Shrimps 2. 2 Ghost Shrimps 3. Every other day water change and maintenance 4. Trimmed the hair grass 5. Some brown algae (diatoms) forming. Need to buy some Otocinclus. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5055.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5058.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5062.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5063.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5066.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5177.jpg
  16. The red looks great! Looks like your tank is rimless. I always had my arowana tanks covered in the assumption that they may jump out. What is your background material? Is it black car tint or just painted?
  17. Jayba, Nice! I like the first angel pic. So detailed. The background looks good also. Do you have pictures of the whole tank? I like nano tanks but looking at the angels makes me want to setup an Altum and Discus tank.
  18. Jayba, Amazing shots! Looks like a pro. What more if an SLR is used? Keep it up.
  19. Thanks Mko. I noticed your traingular composition. Cool. I want to create one composition like this one of these days. The white backgound. Is it cardboard? I think the white background makes it good for photography.
  20. Nice tank.I like nano to small setups. That way, it keeps the costs down:) What did you use for your background? Is it easy to grow hydrocotyle verticillata? Im planning to grow glosso with this on the foreground of my next tank. Is that a glass drop checker similar to ADA on the lower right?
  21. Thanks Jay, It was quite moist yesterday so my window was fogged up. The fog picture was taken using a 3mb camera phone. Sometimes I think the camera phone shots looks better than my 10 mb point and shoot shots because there is only one setting with the phone.
  22. One month mark. Changed to glassware and runners starting to spread. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5035.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5037.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5045.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5046.jpg http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5047.jpg Venturi effect from Lily Pipes. I don't think it really removes the oily film but it looks good. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/DSCN5039.jpg Foggy effect background. http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g342/LG_Aquadesign/Photo0416.jpg
