  1. Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before. I have a school of rummynose in a well planted 90 gallon tank and it seems that whenever ONE rummynose stops swimming for a moment (whether because they are tired or the rest of the school has suddenly gone off to the other part of the tank), it slowly starts to float sideways as if it was going to die.....then it would dart off again ready to find its school. I'm not sure how ele to describe it. Is this normal???? Second question--> I ordered plants via mail and it was shipped last week wednesday and still hasn't arrived yet. Assuming that it gets here tomorrow (thursday), thats a travel time of 8 days....would my anubias and crypts still be alive?! Thanks everyone! K
  2. I read that figure 8's are better able to tolerate freshwater for a longer period of time and are not as tempermental as their spotted counterpart. I was planning to put a small one into a 33g tank that will be hosuing clown loaches and german blue rams..is this a good idea? Thanks! Kit
  3. I went to Bumper Crop organic shop and I must say I was absolutely satisfied with their service and with my purchase. They even helped me out clean my light hood and install the new t5's! Definitely would recommend any fish hobbyist looking to get more light to go there.
  4. Hello all! Hoping to benefit from your experience! I've been looking into getting some rams (German rams) but they are usually much less colorful than the ones I see on the internet and in books..is there a reason? Do they grow more colorful? The ones I see are usually a dull grey, and not the wonderful blue and yellow and green color. Thanks!
  5. I'm in Calgary...how do I change my group to reflect that I am in Calgary? Just looked at pisces last week...they had farlowella cats but no SAE's.

    Hello!

haha yup! Soon as I saw your link, I was off to here and registered in a minute. Thank goodness for your link...otherwise I'd get more replies to my driftwood post to go to the beach hehe
  7. Hey Ryan, I have seen the tank of fish at Pincher creek...its in a chinese restaurant right? Apparently that guy breeds his own fish down there! I wanted to go down and look at the tanks (because the wonderful waitress told me all about the fish down there scaring her haha)..but was too chicken to ask. Amazing looking arrowana and he had rays too! Nice tank.

    Hello!

Thank you!! I've been here 5 minutes and I already find this site incredibly useful. Too bad I didn't stumble onto this earlier!
  9. Hi everyone! Was wondering where you actually find Siamese algae eaters and/or amano shrimps?? Been looking for them for a while now but no luck. And where might I find zebra snails? I had one previously and it did a good job, but then I started keeping small clowns and pretty soon my zebra snail became a zebra shell.
  10. I have a 33 gallon tank hood that has a fairly weak looking fluorescent tube. I was wondering if there's any way I can convert that into incandescent and then I could fit 2 of those wonderful compact and energy efficient fluorescent bulbs that fit into normal incandescent sockets? I guess a good starting point for a 33 gallon would be to have 90 watts of lights (approx?) so if I could get two compact fluorescent, that would be 120watts! Any help would be appreciated!
