  1. ^^^?? I noticed a couple weeks ago my tap water had a ton of ammonia in it.
  2. Ah ok. Bummer...Poor fishes. How big is that tank at big als? I've always been wondering.
  3. I'm just curious if anyone knows what happened? Apparently all the sharks are gone, all I've gotten from employees is "something happened...." I'm kind of bummed, they were beautiful! They're getting more I guess... But, definitely sad. So yeah, just wondering if anyone knew anything.
  4. Just had my birthday and told everyone to pitch in for an eheim pro 2 2028, its beautiful! I love it. Might retire the fluvals, I dont want to worry about my power going out and coming home to 40g of water on the floor lol Since the one, if you unplug it, it leaks.... Oh well, it was a step into the world of canister filtration.
  5. Its a 120g. I am regretting buying it now though instead of the 125g which would have been a foot longer, but I am thinking of my oscars and having more room to run around. When it comes to looks, the 120g is nicer since its so much taller.
  6. Lol Never noticed how it does look like they're laughing. Yeah I should finish the stand! It would be nicer.
  7. A couple pics of my stand and canopy. I'm proud of them, I never do any wood work so I was pleased. And then my canopy. I wanted to make it as light as possible, yet pretty sturdy. Seems good now, cats jump on it all the time. Plus its easy to remove, my old tanks canopy was made from 3/4" ply wood and weighed sooo much! I'm happy with it, all except for the angry oscars. They didn't like the move too the new tank, I hope they calm down soon...
  8. Awesome! I'm glad I posted up here, some other sites are like "dont waste your time, buy an eheim pro 2!!" lol Good stuff, glad to hear there are others that have put the time into trying to fix them rather than just dropping 300$ on a new filter.
  9. So I have a fluval 404 and 405 for my 120g. The 404 is about a year and a half old, Its done wonderful. Then once I got the new 120g tank, I bought a 405 since I got a killer deal on it and wanted some more turn over. I've always read they're prone to leaking. But I never had an issue, until last weekend. Long story short, while setting up the 120g the 404 started to leak past the clasps. So I got a new main o-ring, that didn't help, so I tried a new quick release unit for the hoses. Seems to have worked. My assumption as to why it leaked was the seals on the quick release dried up or what ever. Leaked water into the head through this little slot I noticed in one of the hose inlets, then drains past the clasps since there are holes for them there. Its been running for a week now with no problems, however I dont trust it and dont want to so much as touch it let alone shut it off lol I've read sooo many threads on leaking fluvals, but it never seems like people take the time to fix it. Do you guys know of some serious flaw to these things? They seem to do a very good job when they're working, and the design seems simple enough to figure out. I Guess I'm wondering is it, are they that inferior to other canister filters that its not worth fixing when you can get a good eheim and never worry? Thanks, just looking for some insight.

    Hello

Thanks for the welcome. So how long has this forum been around? I heard about it through a friend and her mom.

    Hello

Hello, my name is Ray. I guess I signed up here a while ago, but forgot lol Couldn't figure out why my email was taken :boxed: I've got a 120g with 2 oscars, and electric blue jack dempsey and a common pleco.
