I had this similar problem when i first started out in 33 gallon tank, it would stink and the water smells like rot. I solved it by changing the water more frequently, vacuuming the gravel and cleaning the sponges inside the filters. After a week of small daily water changes and not over feeding my tank, it now smells like fresh aquarium water. how often do you change the water and does your substrate have lots of food lying around?

I am wondering what is the youngest age you guys have gotten BN plecos to breed? I have a spawn from a pair under 10 months old.

The funny thing about getting a tank is that you always want to get a bigger one. I went from a 30g to a 60g in less then 6 months.

I would like to say hello to everyone on this forum from calgary. I have 60 gallon tank myself stocked with some Clown loaches and Red Zebras. A buddy and I attempted breeding polits and had mild success.
