  1. do you carry the adhesive as well?? if not whats the best to use and how much is it?
  2. i have had these breed for me on 2 occasions and always after 4-5 weeks the adult males would eat all the male fry. after 40-50 fry i had only a few left. it might be easier for you to seperate the adult males and any cats which might want the fry for food.
  3. i have an electric blue hap that is always moving around my tank. and a gold ziare( i think thats the name) that loves exploring all the open spaces of the tank. both are for sale if interested.
  4. i have to get in on this thread! im very interested by puffers but have never kept one. what would you recommend for a 90 gallon. and what would be the best enviroment for "said" species??
  5. are you thinking about buying the breeding brichardi and leleupi from me? i really want to find a home for these guys.
  6. my brichardi cichlids had a nice surprise for me when i came back from edmonton on monday. about 50-60 of them! i never even knew they were paired off, they are the smallest pair in the tank and so far are looking like great parents. pics to follow soon.....
  7. its a natural garlic extract. you can get it at pisces for a decent price. cant remember how much. its great to help with parasites. its a natural repellant for fish as well as dogs. great for flea control. check it out, i have only heard good things about it.
  8. i recommend trying garlic guard. it's great to get picky eaters interested in food. also try limiting the amount of light for the tank.
  9. i have tried. very hard to get a pic of it. but im sure i will at some point
  10. from what i can see i have the following: 1 white calvus 4 brichardi 2 Burundi julidochromis 1 unknown julidochromis species 1 ocellatus 4 leleupi 2 tretocephalus hope i have most of them.
  11. im actually not 100% sure on what i have in the tank. i know i have 3 brichardi's, 4-5 leluipi, one shell dweller, cant remember his name. albine brichardi, thats about all i can remember off hand. im waiting on a book from chapters, so i can i.d. all the species.
  12. recently moved into my own apartment and decided that my tank was looking kinda boring. so i added some more rock and some colorful new charactors! :smokey: before: and after the move and new rock. also added a t5 light: enjoy, as always, comments and susgestions welcome.
  13. recently aquired a 33 gallon tank and i was going to use it for a sump but after realizing that it would not fit under my stand, i changed directions. so im going to setup a hospital/quarantine tank. going to add some glass to create 2 sections, possibly 3. so my question for everyone is what would be the best setup for this? heater/filter/substrate, etc. would also like to know what worked best and what i should avoid.
  14. very true greg. but i guess im a sucker for punishment in that respect. lol i like the search, but need to have the proper information first. hey boom, where did you get that book? and do you remember how much you piad for it?
  15. i have been doing alot of research on tanganyikan cichlids and have only come up with a limited number of species. i have several books and read several web pages. a book i have says that there is a large variety of tanganyikan cichlids but only lists a few of them. could anyone point me in the direction of a good site/book or even be able to help me create a list? right now im going on what i have researched and what my trusted lfs tells me.
  16. i run an xp3 on my 90 gallon and it works great! never had a problem with it. disassembled my whole tank and moved it last weekend and the rena filter took about 1 minute to take apart, and about 10 to fully clean! only thing i was told to watch out for is the rubber o ring in the top. they are known to crack after a while as they are not lubricated. in my opinion, rena is the best bang for your buck. 155-159 is what you can expect to pay for a xp3.
  17. just one right now, when i get the rest of the rockwork done i will hopefully be getting more
  18. try filtering the water through some peat. its what they recommend for discus and such, by the way what are you keeping and in what kind of setup?
  19. sorry about the confussion, im adding more rock to provide more hiding spots, thus lowering the aggression. the statement about infection, i thought that my fish may have contracted something and for that reason i was a little worried. but after observing them further i realized it was just stress like you said, and the fact that the new fish were being bullied.
  20. just a hint, be careful with the rusted angle iron, the rust can move the glass and possibly crack it. i have personally seen this with auto glass. 3 year old truck, cracked windshield due to rust on the pinch weld. so make sure the rust is not in between the iron and the glass!!
  21. its a 90 gallon tank with a 48" footprint. i should have said earlier that i need to add some more rock, lol but im kinda paranoid about and infections! seems after a day or two they have all settled in nicely, color is coming out and they are all eating great. thanks for the help everyone, right now im done with stocking the tank, more rock and possibly a sump will be the next upgrades. thanks again!! :smokey:
  22. what about garlic extract? i know there are some foods medicated with garlic and from asking around, it works really well, also helps to stimulate feeding! good luck!
  23. hey, could you describe your setup? im also toying with the idea but need all the info i can get. lol looks great by the way
  24. loki
