So I inherited a small overstocked tank (40Gs, 1 oscar, 3 tinfoil barbs, 2 silver dollars, one pleco) but I'm picking up a 95G soon... Would an the oscar with the 3 tinfoil barbs in the tank be actually sufficient? would it be possible to add a couple of more mid sized barbs to the mix to add the school be ok?

Well, have moved the tank and the loverly fishes, all have so far survived the move... I'll probably leave them for a week to ensure they survive.. am actually getting a new 95G tank soon, so my options have changed, but I'd discuss that in a different part of the forum I guess..

I used to teach English in Asia. Anglo = English Phobe = phobia/afraid... Afraid of English... And I'm not sure if it's a discus, as I said, I'm new... it is kinda disc shaped though..

I've seen plenty of articles on setting up tanks, and fish type, plants, etc. But I haven't found a good article (set of articles?) on explaining and comparing equipment for a tank. Anyone have some suggestions?

As far as I can tell, it's a 30-40 gallon tank, with a 7" or so oscar, a couple of discus, a 7" or so Pleco, and probably 2-3 other fish... I know I'll probably have to get rid of most of them from the tank. (If I get it... it's currently an office tank)

Hello, I'm new to the whole fish keeping hobby. Currently investigating what I'd like to start with, and might be inheriting an overloaded tank (from everything I've read, it has way too many fish for the size of the tank..)
