I've broken pieces on my UV sterilizer before, and just sent Coralife an email and they mailed me the parts free of charge:) Their customer service is indeed excellent I would try popping them an email asking about a replacement ballast. Chances are they'll hook you up.

My biggest blue dolphin is changing color it seems, but in a weird way lol... It's "chin" is black o.O and it's anal and pelvic fins are darkening as well. It is also developing a very thin dark edging along the top of the dorsal fin. The rest of the fish is silvery blue. The fish's behavior is markedly different lately as well, it's more aggressive than normal, still hanging out with the others but chasing them away when they wanna get too close lol. I've seen ammonia burns on fish before, and this doesn't look at all like them, just like a color change, but I didn't think C. moori colored up like this? The second largest fish, which is only smaller by less than half a centimeter shows the normal juvy coloration of light silvery blue with the 3 dark splotches on the body, no dark anywhere else, and the others are usually just silvery blue, unless excited when their blotches show. The fish are in a 48 gallon long, 5 C. moori all 2 inches or less, and 5 C. borleyi 2 inches or less. Filtration is an XP3 and an AC500 and water quality is spot on... They are eating NLS grow twice daily. Am I being paranoid, or is this normal???

Sounds like you're on the right track I hope your angel gets better soon. I gravel vac every time I do a water change too, it's a good thing. It cleans up the mulm and detritus in the tank, as I'm sure you already know. The only time I would space it out (i.e. only gravel vac one half of the tank each time you change the water) is if you were doing, say 50% water changes weekly, and were noticing that you were causing a tiny little mini cycle each time from disrupting the good bacteria populations in your gravel bed. But that's just me.

I'll be dressed completely inappropriately for the weather (DAMN you to hell winter!) and probably hanging with Christian so he can help me get good deals lol I'm usually pretty easy to spot, too 21 and curly hair anyways, if it helps. DON'T FORGET ABOUT BIRTHDAY DRINKS AFTER!!!!!!

So I bought them some guppy fry to eat lol... I was at Superpet and they were there and like 10 cents apiece and I thought hey why not! well, let's just say they aren't eating them! Anything but really, a week later and the guppy fry are fat and happy, eating bloodworms with the dwarf puffers and everyone is having a great time -roll- Today I actually saw one steal a frozen bloodworm RIGHT OUT OF THE DWARF PUFFER'S MOUTH! I wish I had a camera handy lol cuz it was friggin priceless. Guess I'm gonna have 8 miscellaneous guppies in my Dp tank o.O

This looks very similar... My vote would be Hole in the Head... http://www.worldcichlids.com/diseases/Adamhith.html http://www.flippersandfins.net/HITHarticle2.htm In addition to the change in food recommendations, you might want to try some metronidazole if the general consensus from others is HITH as well. Btw, New Life Spectrum is a fantastic food, and considered by most here to be the best you can buy for your fishies

I was gonna say "no! make that baileys and coffee!" but then I remembered that I work at Tim Horton's and I'd rather not see any more coffee for the next 20 years, thanks :P
