I am using super silica #7 sand from silver automotive or any automotive supply store is sand blasting sand about 10$ for 80 lb ,It is not white but is light color ,It looks great and settles to bottom very quick Dana

I am using a fluval 405 on 55 gal ,had a 404 on my 38 gal ,Ilike them better than the marineland c360 on my 80gal tank.They have better flow and are impossible to plug. Dana

Well i am back in to the hobby again after 15 years ,learning all over again but loving it i have 7 tanks going looking at adding another 80 gal or larger tank, my tanks 5 gal for holding mouthers 20 gal boi cube for fry 6 rustys,5 haps,4 bumblebees,4 redback scrapers,10 yellow labs,12 white labs same litter 4 rusty fry ,3 peach color cichlid fry 6 buffalo head fry, and 20 some odd fryand 2 black calvis 20 gal for marmalade cats 4 blue berry 4 outher 30 gal for 7 demasoni and 7 juvianl blue dolphins 3 yellow tail acei,3electric blue alei, 90 gal for 1 flame back scraper 2 femails -1 bar fin scraper 1 femail,mating pair red jewel and 5 juvinal jack dempseys 1 pair apachie pecocks 1 electric blue alei,3red empress,3 crimson tides,2 honduran red points all about 2 to 2.5 inch 80 gal tank for mbuna roughley 47 but they are adding to their own numbers,a mating pair red jewels and 7 juvinals 2 convices,1 starwberry ,1sunrise and 3 red shoulder peacocks and a few odd outhers I know i am forgetting some will update when i rember. So glad there is a place to ask for advice when I need it, :thumbs:Just finished my stand for my new 65 gal long which will be for all of my dwarf cichlids .
