  1. You are SO right here! Ive got my head blowing out now... :boom: I better be picky in the first place this time. It hurts when I have to give up some down the road, so I rather to have something that will work in a long run... Thanks for helping me out Mr. lab :flex:
  2. I just think that they might feel little happier with couple of girls around, although I donot intend to breed, I wouldnt mind either if there is 1 or 2 little survivors swiming every now and then.
  3. to be honest, the C. Moorii had been on my list before. The females are with decent colors, but Id have to say the males are not a WOW color.
  4. I cant agree more! This is why sometimes I got frustrated when digging through the malawi fiels. sometimes I even want give up the idea of a malawi tank.
  5. As of the color, besides the yellow and blue, I's also like to see some red/orange colors in the tank. Thanks Degrass and Johnsmith, you guys both mentioned P. Taiwanee Reef, I like their colors blue/yellow/orange. but I am just wondering if there is a cross breeding issue with peacocks, b/c someone said that tainwaneed reef males are too peaceful to defend their females from other haps. I kinda like the idea of one rep. of each group (hap, mbuna, peacock). So the Jacob eureka / sunshine idea is still there. Does that mean I am done big boys? I really want to have something big and colorful as the center piece, although a 120g is a 'small' tank africanwise... :eh:
  6. Thanks RD for your comments and NLS, my fishes really like it. I totally agree what you said about the two yellow/blue combos, they should be making good color comtrast together. Yet I am also looking for size contrast too. What I was tying to do here is to set up a tank better mimic the fish's nature habitat, i.e. with both rounded boulders and sandy bottom, with larger haps and smaller rock fish. I do know 4ft is a little tight, but i wish I could make it up by carefully selection of fishes. Anyway, it is getting hard now with all the delimas. But like Nev said, its the fun part and I am really enjoying doing it. It just feels like doing the show home tour when building a new house. A little confusing, but I am loving it! :smokey:
  7. So, here is a improved stocklist with all your valuable inputs: (Thanks all! You guys are simply the best!) Haps: Trio of Dimidiochromis Compressiceps Eye biter / 1m2f Trio of Aul. Jacobfriebergi Eureka / 1m2f Mbuna: Ps. Saulosi 3m/6f OR Yellow labs 3 / Ps. Acei white tail 6 So, thats a total of 15 (6 haps / 9 mbunas) in a 120G. Do you think it looks better? or worse? Will the haps make snakes out of the mbuna? or instead the small bugs bother those somewhat peaceful haps? Any other fish you would add? or drop? :baby:
  8. I was worrying about aggression issues of Fusco too. Okey then, at least I guess I can still admire them without putting all in my own tanks anyways. -07-
  9. Thanks its a 120g (4x2x2).
  10. If I decide go Saulosi, I guess I will have to give up on my labs. I am not too sure about it but i remember ive read somewhere that the male Saulosi might cross breed with the labs. -07- . ? no idea. What I like saulosi the most is the bright yellow shcool of females . . I am big fan of those bright vibrant yellow color small fishes, all types, fresh or salt water. It seems to me that saulosi females are the only mbunas that hang around together most of the time. To me, that is COOL! really cool!
  11. This just confirmed my concern. I had one Domesoni nipping on a sunshine peacock which is 3 times bigger. :boxed: I guess I will have to think about it again then...
  12. Thanks nev! good luck to your holding Saulosi! Sorry Degrassi. I was thinking something like this: Plan A - peaceful Hap: Dimidiochromis Compressiceps / Malawi eye biter , 1M/2F Peacock: Aul. Baenschi / Sunshine, 1m/2f Mbuna: Ps. Saulosi 3m/6f Or Plan B - aggressive Hap: Nimbochromis Fuscotaeniatus / Fusco, 1m/2F Peacock: Aul. Jacobfriebergi / Eureka, 1m/2f Mbuna: Yellow labs 3 & Ps Domesoni 6. Or any other combinations of the above fishes. Hope it is a little clear now... :&
  13. Hey all, The list below is for a 120G. I am thinking to get the tank by this August (how? and where?) so there might still be something to dig a bit. Hap: Option 1: Dimidiochromis Compressiceps / Malawi eye biter , 1M/2F Option 2: Nimbochromis Fuscotaeniatus / Fusco, 1m/2F Peacock: Option 1: Aul. Jacobfriebergi / Eureka, 1m/2f Option 2: Aul. Baenschi / Sunshine, 1m/2f Mbuna: Option 1: Ps. Saulosi 3m/6f Option 2: Yellow labs 3 & Ps Domesoni 6. Fairly new to the hobby. Welcome any input! :bang1:

    Hello

Thanks nev. I am very glad joining AA. Maybe too happy to introduce my fish friends. :bang1: here they are: a pair of sunshine and the male is the best looking fish and the king. 6 juvi labs endlessly doing circles all day long. 1 small lonely blue JD always hang over the biggest bowlder (35+lbs).
