pretty simple stuff thanks
You are welcome. Any time!

ok thanks and u get the primer put it on then put the glue on and stick together
Yes, prime both pieces, then apply the cement to the male end and slide them together with a slight twist.
-
ok didnt know if that stuff was safe. how do u tell all i know is its white and some of the stuff i have gotten is grey
I believe the gray is medium. That is what I use.
It is safe for fish (and drinking water) as long as it has cured. I let mine cure for 24 hours before rinsing and running.

You will need PVC Primer and Cement. It is available at Home Depot under the Oatey brand. Just make sure the existing plumping is PVC and not CPVC because the cement is not interchangeable.

Hello all,
I am looking for someone that can build me a tank stand made from wood. I do not have the tools to actually build one myself
So if someone knows a custom tank stand builder, or is willing to build one for me, please let me know!
Thanks
I just had shoulder surgery, so I am not able to build you a stand. If I was not in this sling I would be all for building for you. Woodworking is one of my hobbies. Sorry I can't help.

hey cdnarcher.
Was just looking at there website and saw both SIL #7 and SIL #4... which is coarser? I do not know sand grade terminology - but love the look of the sand in your tank
The #7 (U.S. Mesh Size) is screened through a #7 screen with a opening size of 0.111" and the #4 is screened through an opening size of 0.187", so the #4 will have some larger particles in it.

I need some Spirulina Powder for making my own frozen food for my Mbuna. Does anyone know where to buy it in Calgary and area?

When I set up my tank, I went to Burnco Rock Products and bought Sil #7 Silica Sand in 100 lb bags for $9. It is a light tan color and really works well.
Here are a couple of photos that show the sand.

A few more videos of my tank. I just had shoulder surgery, so I have nothing better to do!

Nice looking tank. The video was good too. I have a frontosa that likes to excavate , but I have the coarse crushed shells so he is the only one (I think) that does it regularily. How many fish do you have in there?
It was really neat to watch him dig. He went on for hours cleaning "his spot" out.
I currently have 41 inhabitants. I think I am going to add 6 Albino Socolofi and then be done for a while until I have to cull some of the males.

Hey,
Welcome to the Forums, I'm new myself. I posted on your tank pictures and wondering what specs d oyou have on your moonlighting?
I answered your post in my photo thread. Thanks! and Welcome to yourself too!

Thank you everyone! I love to sit and watch the tank. Often for hours!

Beautiful...how do you get that lighting effect at night? <newbie question...>
It really is so simple. It is an Outdoor Waterproof Light Fixture mounted in the hood that has a 13 Watt Blue CFL Party Bulb in it. It is on a timer to come on when the other lights go off. All of the components are available at Rona.

Thanks! It is a work in progress.
