  1. Thanks guys :) Im really happy with how it turned out.

For water changes its actually really easy as the water level only changes in the sump the way I placed all the drains and since Im staying bare bottom its a simple drain any tank then add water to any and she is good to go.

Once i get the drip system all figured out with the chlorimine and ammonia we have here I will have it auto dripping and then all I will have to clean is the sponges and filter mats.

Yeah were a big fan of the oldschool systems...... legend of zelda is 20 years strong now lol

  2. Done and Done..... Took a bit to get the top tank up there LOL.... Like a 40 of captains but its good.....

6 holes drilled.... painted the backs and bottoms of both tanks.... Turned out really sharp :)

Even got fly river turtles in with the gars so Im a happy camper now..... get to take a tank break for a few weeks I hope

  3. Check out the "River Monsters" episode on Gator Gars!!!

    :) :) :)

Ohh i love that show, even the wife loves pointing out "hey you have that snakehead" "Hey thats like our red tail cat" AND it gave me the go ahead with the wife for the plywood monster we have in the works for summer

  4. concrete in a basement is a minimum of 14" thick and it supports teleposts that Hold way more weight in a way more concentrated area with no problems so Im sure this will be fine. heres praying anyways lol I know my shop pad is 12" in the center and 16" on the sides as I helped pour it.

Seems to be fine with my 300 gallon and 140G sump under it and thats only 2 feet longer....

  5. I just finished the paint on my steel rack and thought i would post it for feedback.

Its made of 1 1/2" square tubing and comes in 2 parts (so i can get it down the stairs) Base and top tier with legs that slide in like pins to prevent warping.

It will fit a 90 gallon sump in the bottom and 2 180 gallon tanks. This is my first run so I pray it wolds and works the way i designed it.....

It is solid.... but it hasn't had the full tank weight test yet.....

I would have taken side pics but I have posters all over my garadge and this was the best i could do not to show any of those.....

They have a new 180 gallon for the time being till my triple rack system is completed.

The shortnose and floridas have grown about 2 inches in the last month and my Gator has grown about 4 inches give or take..... He ate a brother and a arowana ate the other xmas eve.... Not too happy.

Everyone is on tiger prawns and super worms and super active :)

  7. Looking fat bro Great job :)

My gators have been on a steady diet of clown loaches and silver dollars..... I got them thier own 180 but when i filled it, It leaked...... And great to hear you found a royal get a pic of him up.

pagani, Im sure i could spare a couple bro If your still interested?

  8. you need to pm skynoch...... He is the ray master with rays and our water bro.....

I always figured new water is better than old water as the bio lives in the media. As long as its the same temp and PH dump the tank into the new one top it off with fresh (de chlorinated) and move the filters. Then keep an eye on the ammonia spikes IF you get any with more water changes the first few weeks.

Also keep em in a rubbermaid while you do all this and take your time mixing the new water in there before you add em. Thats how Ive done it with motoros moving tanks and I havent had a problem.
