Just curious as to what makes a fish albino? Is it just a recessive trait or have breeders genetically modify the strain to select for this trait?

What are the best plants for an african cichlid tank? Our Melanochromis interruptus uproot/destroy everything we try and put in, but leave the annibus alone. Is there any hardy plants besides the annibus we can plant in our tank?

Just curious as to what the best plecos are for an African tank. My tank is 45 gallons and the only pleco my peacocks and melanochromis interruptus have left alone is an albino bristlenose.
