Thanks for the replies guys as soon as the Fronts mellow out a bit i will take some pics, it was quite the quest for me to get them between the fact my van is a pos so travel to "real" pet stores was quite a challenge now for the next hurdle I NEED MORE haha, Should maybe talk to Fairdeal. He often travels from Calgary to Edm to deliver fish, and has some Fronts I believe.

yeah I have only recently even found these forums , mfk is one i stumbled across and WOW there are some serious fish people out there haha, Im just a normal guy, trying to enjoy this hobby but as a family man I am always on a budget so the idea of a plywood tank appealed to me because I have no shortage of time on my hands and plywood is relatively cheap, and the cheaper the better for me

Strip the female?, like to dispose of the eggs?, not an option, I appreciate the keeping pure species however im not in the business of selling fish im in the sitting at home enjoying my fish, if they cross breed then so be it , Thanks to all who replied

I am aware of the purest theory of not allowing a species to cross breed and obviouslly i would not be selling them off as one or the other to anyone ,but I do believe the little guys have a right to exist lol genicide is not in my nature. I was more looking for a visual description of what they may look like. I have never been good at waiting for things xmas for example lol, Had I not watched the spawning process myself I wouldnt have know at all. but i cant take back what i saw so its got me curious. Im not a breeder for profit or anything but the idea of having my lil guys have there own offspring is interesting to me, and I find the whole mouth brooding process pretty amazing I mean really. Is it not true that cross breeding and such is part of the evolutionary path?, I realize that there fish but who knows they may be standard looking or plain jane but maybe they may be unique at least assuming they survive the dangers of being born in my african tank.

first off that sux about your fish sorry guy what is the average life exp of that fish i mean 9-10 years isnt that a long time? im new and im not trying to be a smart @$$ but is it possible that his age has anything to do with it

i have a rather large cluster of various cichlids in my tank and today I noticed my electric yellow doing the do with a usually timid male red zebra, the tellow is now holding eggs in her mouth what I was wondering does anyone have any idea of what I may end up with here? I know it isnt uncommon for the 2 to mix but i just wanted to know what they may look like?

Hello I was hoping anyone had any advice on building a diy plywood tank my main concern is are there any specific brands of epoxy or fiberglass resin to either avoid or look for im still in the planning phase and I am just worried about building a giant deathtrap for my fish ie leeching or leaking haha I have looked at a bunch of stuff online however it all seems like its diy without a budget or perhaps im broker than most

Hey guys/ladies, just wanted to say hello Im new to alberta aquatica, Since I was a kid i have always been into fish, Currently trying my hand with many different things, breeding africans happens to be the latest, I know everyone and there dog has them/ breeds them but it is a newish exp for me. Doing alot of diy aquarium stuff about to take on a DIY 250 ish gallon plywood tank, I make 3d backgrounds, Looking forward to connecting with others that have fish for sale trade advice etc, currently looking for some adult Frontosa's. I had a trio way back in the day when I was just a kid and I have always had a thing for those fish, so any leads would be awesome. If I have to look at petland/petsmart one more time it may push me over the edge lol
